First Trailer For “John Wick 3: Parabellum” Released! Stylish Assassins, Dogs & More!

John Wick 3 Parabellum Poster

The first trailer for John Wick 3: Parabellum has been released and it has everything fans of the franchise have come to expect. The trailer is full of stylish assassins, dogs, and beautifully crafted fight scenes.

The first John Wick movie, starring Keanu Reeves, came out in 2014. It made a nice profit at the box office. John Wick 2 was released in 2017 and it ended up grossing more than $170 million at the worldwide box office against a reported budget of $40 million. The inevitable third chapter will be released in the U.S. on May 17, 2019.

With Reeves still playing the lead, the upcoming movie features Oscar-winner Halle Berry as Sofia, an assassin who has a past with John.

Check out the trailer!

In John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, our lead assassin has to survive after having a $14 million bounty placed on his head. The word parabellum means “prepare for war” in Latin.

The returning cast includes Ian McShane as Continental Hotel owner Winston, Laurence Fishburne as crime lord The Bowery King, John Leguizamo as Aurelio, Common as Cassian, and Ruby Rose as Ares.

The new cast includes Berry as Sofia. John goes to her for help because they used to work together. Mark Dacascos will be playing the main villain. Anjelica Huston is The Director. She is “responsible for [Wick’s] upbringing and his protection,” according to director Chad Stahelski.

Take note the trailer has a quick shot of a ballerina. The said scene might help place the groundwork for a spin-off set in the John Wick film-world.

With a May 17, 2019, release date, while I think John Wick 3 will win the box office weekend, I’m not sure how well it will fare when it comes to the total gross. The current date puts it a week after Pokemon: Detective Pikachu and a week before Disney’s live-action Aladin.
