‘I Kill Giants’ Gets Official Trailer Before March 23 Release Date!

I Kill Giants Film Release trailer

Fans looking forward to the live-action film adaptation of I Kill Giants only have a few more months to wait. An official trailer has been released as the movie nears its March 23, 2018, release date.

The upcoming film is based on I Kill Giants, a limited series published by Image Comics back in 2008. Written by Joe Kelly with art from J.M. Ken Niimura, the limited comic book series tells the story of Barbara Thorson, a young girl who searches for escapism through a fantastical world. Treehouse Pictures picked up the rights to the series back in 2015.

The film stars Madison Wolfe as Barbara Thorson. Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy) plays Mrs.  Mollé, a school counselor. Actress Imogen Poots plays Barbara’s older sister.

I really enjoyed watching the trailer. It looks like Oscar-winning director Anders Walters has struck the right balance between fantasy and reality, which was a large part of the limited series’ story. The upcoming movie will serve as the director’s feature film debut.

The comic book series focused a lot on Barbara’s relationship with those around her as well as the magical creatures. With Joe Kelly serving as the film’s writer, I do think the dialogue will be able to capture the personal moments from the original comic book series.

The film might even remind some of you of the Bridge to Terabithia, as it blurs the lines of what’s real and what’s been created from a child’s imagination to cope with what’s going in their life.

I Kill Giants is set to be released in theatres, Video On Demand, and Digital HD on March 23, 2018. So, we’ll get to find out how it fares soon enough.

Are you looking forward to watching I Kill Giants? Have you read the limited series? Let us know.
