Fans of The CW’s live-action Kung Fu series can look forward to owning the entire second season on DVD come September 27, 2022.

Courtesy of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the Kung Fu: The Complete Second Season DVD will be available for $19.99 USD ($24.99 CAD). It will contain all 13 episodes from the show’s sophomore outing. The series is currently available to own on Digital as well as on HBO Max.

The synopsis for the second season reads:

Six months after the explosive events of season one, Nicky and the Shens are in a great place: Nicky’s been using her Kung Fu skills to keep Chinatown safe, she and Henry are only deeper in love, and the family are all in the know about Nicky’s extracurricular activities. Everything’s great…until the reemergence of Russell Tan and the surprise appearance of Nicky’s cousin, Mia.

The series stars Olivia Liang, Kheng Hua Tan, Eddie Liu, Shannon Dang, Jon Prasida, Gavin Stenhouse, Vanessa Kai, Tony Chung, Yvonne Chapman, and Tzi Ma.

Christina M. Kim serves as executive producer/co-showrunner of the series with Robert Berens. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Martin Gero, and David Madden also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Berlanti Productions and Quinn’s House in association with Warner Bros. Television and is inspired by the original series created by Ed Spielman.

The extra content for the home release includes a Gag Reel. I understand that the lack of extra content can be disappointing for certain fans. Perhaps this particular gag reel will be longer to make up for it? Hmm.

The 13 one-hour episodes are:

  • Year of the Tiger: Part 1
  • Year of the Tiger: Part 2
  • The Bell
  • Clementine
  • Reunion
  • Jyu Sa
  • The Alchemist
  • Disclosure
  • The Enclave
  • Destruction
  • Bloodline
  • Alliance
  • The Source

The video content on the DVD (consisting of 3 discs) will be presented in 16×9 widescreen format. The running time comes in at approximately 780 minutes.

While The CW went on a recent canceling spree, the good news is that Kung Fu got renewed for a third season. The third offering is supposed to debut on October 5, 2022.
