While there’s still time for it to possibly come to fruition it seems that Star Wars might just give fans the Finn and Poe (aka StormPilot) romance they’ve been craving.

Ever since The Force Awakens fans have passionately shipped Finn and Poe. The whole thing caught the attention of the actors as well as the studio higher-ups.

In a recent interview with Ecartelera, the head of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy shared a quote that makes it sound like they have taken the Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) romance under consideration.

We’ve talked about it, but I think you’re not going to see it in The Last Jedi,” she said. “In the next six or eight months we will have some meetings about the stories that we will develop next,” she added. “After 40 years of adventures, people have a lot of information and a lot of theories about the path these stories can take, and sometimes those theories that come up are new ideas for us to listen to, read and pay attention to.”

Fans have also shipped two male characters from Rogue One. It all goes to show that a considerable part of the fandom is ready for a queer romance in the main film series.

The trailer for The Last Jedi was released more than a week ago and it has already provided StormPilot shippers with new content!

However, some fans aren’t excited about the possible queerbaiting.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled for a December 15 2017 release date. Episode IX currently has a 24 May 2019 release date.

While having a slash ship become popular is awesome it also comes with a downside which our Admin Angel has talked about. Let’s hope Lucasfilm does good by us. At least the cast and crew are aware of StormPilot and aren’t ignoring shippers.

Come through, Lucasfilm! Come through!

What do you think? Do you ship Finn and Poe? Let us know.
