Netflix will be offering us new anime content soon enough. The streaming service has announced partnerships with animation studios Anima, Sublimation, and David Production. It has also shared details on both “new and existing projects” with current partners Production I.G, Wit Studio, and BONES.

With how Castlevania turned out (go watch it!), I’m looking forward to more anime on Netflix. Sublimation is producing a Dragon’s Dogma anime series. Dragon’s Dogma is a Capcom RPG video game series.

Here’s the official description from Netflix:

The story follows a man’s journey seeking revenge on a dragon who stole his heart. On his way, the man is brought back to life as an ‘Arisen’. An action adventure about a man challenged by demons who represent the seven deadly sins of humans.

Wit Studio (Attack on Titan) will be producing a new original anime series titled Vampire in the Garden. It has been described as:

An original series by WIT STUDIO on two girls Momo and Fine from different backgrounds who meet by chance. A story about an unlikely friendship between human and vampire race that intertwines with the power or music.

BONES (My Hero Academia, Bungo Stray Dogs) is producing Super Crooks. It is based on the comic by Mark Millar and Leinil Francis Yu.

Marvel Comics imprint Icon Comics describes the comic as:

One last heist. That’s what they all say, right? Just one final score, and everyone can retire and take up fishing. Thing is, the jails are filled with super villains who thought the same thing, and got busted. But the Heat’s in a jam. He’s run up the kind of gambling debt that – if he can’t pay it back in cash – will be paid in blood. Nobody wants to see the most beloved supercrook of all time rubbed out by the mob – especially his biggest fan, Johnny Bolt. And Johnny’s got a plan to help the Heat and make all his buddies disgustingly rich at the same time. Unfortunately for Johnny’s recruits, they have to head to Spain and rob the world’s most notorious super villain blind. And that’s where things get tricky.

David Production’s project is the recently announced anime series adaptation of Hiroshi Takashige and Ryōji Minagawa’s Spriggan (Striker) manga.

Netflix also reiterated the 2020 premiere of “the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 anime by Production I.G. Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki are directing the 3DCG anime.”

Anima (Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV) will create the Altered Carbon: Resleeved “anime feature” spinoff, which Netflix announced last November.

It will “explore new elements of the story mythology.” Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop) and Tsukasa Kondo are credited as writers.

Netflix announced its “comprehensive business alliance” with Production I.G (along with sister studio Wit Studio) and BONES in January 2018.

Feel free to share your thoughts with us.
