Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 3: ‘New World Order’ Game Review

New World Order Batman The Telltale Series Episode 3

The third episode of Batman: The Telltale Series titled “New World Order” had a very interesting twist at the end even though player choices don’t really have an impact on the plot.

I can understand why some fans are disappointed with Batman: The Telltale Series. Even though the game allows players to make their own decisions, the outcome still remains the same. Even if you saved Harvey Dent in “Children of Arkham” he will still go against you in “New World Order”. However, I do find the overall plot to be very interesting. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it will end regardless of my in-game decisions not having much of an impact on the outcome.

I love the character interactions in this series. As far as I can tell, this game has been created by Batman/Catwoman shippers and I love it! Also, that scene where Bruce Wayne takes on Harvey in just his boxer briefs was complete fan service.

The third episode also has an entertaining sequence where you have to make use of Batman’s detective skills. The fight sequences are quite enjoyable as well.

While I had fun completing the events that took place in “New World Order” I did encounter a few performance issues. The game lagged during some of the sequences. With the series now being three episodes in I really want Telltale to fix this problem. I get that the environment is quite detailed but the company could at least do something about the framerate drops when you have to make in-game decisions. The faulty performance also takes away the fun from the Crowd-Play feature.

If you haven’t yet played this series I suggest that you do. Episode one “Realm of Shadows” is currently available for free on Steam/PC, Android, and iOS devices. The offer will last until November 7, 2016. The series will continue with episode four “Guardian of Gotham”, due for release next month. The fifth and final episode “City of Lights” will be released in December.

Have you played Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 3: “New World Order”? Were you surprised by the identity of the villain at the end? Let us know.
