POLL: The Shipping Games

hungergamesOST_wp

In honor of the final Hunger Games movie that was just released in theaters around the globe, we at The Geekiary thought it would be fun to put together a Hunger Games shipping poll! We’ve included the well-known canon ships, but you’ll find quite a few others on the list as well – crack ships, of course, plus a few that are just for fun.

In order to be eligible for this poll, all characters listed had to be alive as of the end of Mockingjay Part 1. This was just to keep the number of entries manageable, but we still have plenty of choices – obviously we’d love to know if our viewers prefer Katniss/Gale or Katniss/Peeta, but what about Katniss/Nobody? Or do you get more feels over the Finnick/Annie romance, or a crack ship like Effie/Coin? You can vote for more than one at a time, anyway, so let your opinions be known…and may the odds (or rather, in this case, the voting) be ever in your ship’s favor!

Please keep the comment section of this poll free from hate, rudeness, and personal attacks.

Poll closes Monday November 30th, 2015, at *MIDNIGHT* EDT.

Voting is unlimited, but Polldaddy has an internal anti-bot mechanism.  If you vote too fast, it may freeze you out for a few hours.  We cannot shut this off, unfortunately, nor do we know how long you’ll be shut out for.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

  1. Where is the option to not ship anyone due to
    – the situational irrelevance of romantic and sexual attachments
    – how amazing it is to have a fiction where the girl is pragmatic rather than romantically driven but still demonstrably cares about people (even those who are not friends and family) and isn’t drawn as b!+€#
    – how good it is that the hero is a rebel but shows that status only reluctantly because, when she can, she thinks things through before acting
    – how nice it is to have a female character who could easily be on the asexual or aromantic end of the spectrums and since everything is for her perspective, she may not even notice such entanglements

    1. It’s listed under “Katniss/nobody” or “Katniss/falling down hills.”

Personally I ship her with falling down hills.

    1. Oh, I think you’re taking that one the wrong way. It’s included in the same vein as Katniss/Falling down Hills or Beetee/The Capitol Mainframe. Though I guess since Buttercup is a living being maybe it’s more like a “BrOTP” 🙂
