“Professor Lupo: Ocean” Coming to Nintendo Switch December 28, 2020

BeautiFun Games, the studio behind Nihilumbra, has announced that the 2D puzzle adventure, Professor Lupo: Ocean, will be released on the Nintendo Switch come December 28, 2020.

According to the press release we got, Professor Lupo: Ocean will cost Switch players $4.99 (€3.99/£3.99). Take note; bundle options will also be available for players who want both titles from the franchise. This means you can get Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets, as well as Ocean, for $15.99 (€15.99/£15.99).

The game is currently available on Steam. So, is Nihilumbra.

The official description reads:

Professor Lupo: Ocean blends gorgeous hand-drawn characters and 2D grid-based gameplay with challenging, deadly puzzles. With 40 story-driven levels, you’ll have to navigate the abandoned ship you wake on, utilize water flow and currents to progress – while avoiding alien creatures on board that are set to harm or hinder – to discover the mysteries of who you really are.

The Key Features include:

• Solving challenging, deadly puzzles and mini-games by using the flow and currents of water to your advantage. Discovering all the hidden documents across each level to truly push your puzzle-solving abilities.
• The stand-alone sequel to Professor Lupo and his Horrible Pets saga, Ocean is a rich story-driven adventure across 40 levels that’s filled with plot twists. You will need to uncover the mystery of who you are, and why you’ve woken at the bottom of the ocean.
• Professor Lupo: Ocean is populated by fascinating creatures and aliens that can help or hinder your progress. Players will have to learn their behavior, utilize or avoid them to solve challenging puzzles.
• Enjoying beautifully realized hand-drawn 2D characters and creatures.
• The game showcases an original synth soundtrack that’s set to be released for all, for free.
• The current title is fully voice acted for greater immersion.

The lead character is named Clon. She’s been described as an energetic and determined young girl. She regains consciousness after spending a lot of time immersed inside a stasis capsule that was treating the injuries she suffered during the Aurora station’s accident. Due to losing her memory, Clon thinks she’s a maintenance clone activated by Plato.

As for BeautiFun Games, the indie game studio was created in 2011. It aims to create “narrative video games with distinctive and beautiful aesthetics.”
