I have been keeping an eye on Reverie ever since NBC picked it up for a complete season. Let’s see what Mickey Fisher has in store for us when his latest TV series about virtual reality premieres May 30!

I enjoyed watching and reviewing the Halle Berry starring Extant, Mickey Fisher’s first TV show. Now, he is back as a showrunner with Reverie. The upcoming series stars Sarah Shahi as Mara Kint and it deals with people getting trapped in virtual reality.

Fans of queer content might remember Sarah Shahi from The L Word.

Anyway, here is an entire video showing what Reverie is about.

The cast is quite diverse, which is always a plus in my book. Furthermore, I am interested in seeing the different worlds Mickey Fisher will create. As far as I can tell, the upcoming show will also talk about humanity and what makes something real. After watching Extant, I’m looking forward to seeing how Fisher continues to explore such themes on our TV screens.

Here’s the trailer!

Now, I know content focusing on virtual reality and creating dreams isn’t anything new. We have numerous books, movies, anime, games, etc. talking about it. So, let’s see what Fisher brings to the table. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.

Due to the kind of stuff we cover on this website, while I enjoyed Extant, the show didn’t have any queer representation while it aired on CBS. The network has given us Instinct, though.

Reverie will be airing on NBC, which is home to the iconic Will & Grace as well as Mightnight, Texas (a show that quickly amassed a passionate fanbase and will be coming back for a second season). The network also saved Brooklyn Nine-Nine. All three series have well-written queer representation. Let’s see if Reverie, considering it is about a world where a person can create any kind of environment they want, will include sexual diversity or not.

Will you be tuning in for Reverie? Let us know.
