The second season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race is ready for an August 12, 2022 debut while featuring a completely new format. It is basically Drag Race meets The Masked Singer and the fandom is already excited!

The first season of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race premiered back in April of 2020. While I enjoyed the 4-episode offering, many in the fandom held a different opinion. Fans made jokes about the “celebrities” being selected to be part of the show and the lackluster production value. Now, I don’t know about the celebrity cast for the second season, but as far as the promo is concerned, the production value has vastly improved. The change in the format also looks very exciting.

The winning celebrity will receive a $100,000 donation to the charity of their choice. Brooke Lynn Hytes, Monet X Change, and Jujubee (yes, to her being a mainstay of the Drag Race franchise) will serve as the “Queen Supreme Mentors” while fans can expect special guest appearances from well-known Queens including Gottmik, Katya, Eureka, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Morgan McMichaels, and Violet Chachki.

The judging panel will include RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews. The celebrities will get to perform in front of a live studio audience. The identity of the celebrities will be kept secret from the judges as well as the audience.

RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race season 2 will premiere on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET on VH1. I definitely plan on watching and recording my reaction to the episodes over on The Geekiary YouTube page. So, go subscribe if you haven’t already.

As for the Drag Race content that’s currently airing (which I also cover on the YouTube channel), we have Drag Race France season 1 hosted by Nicky Doll, Canada’s Drag Race season 3, and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 7.

Are you excited?
