Is The “Spider-Man: Far From Home” Teaser Trailer Just A Big Illusion?

The teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has been released, and while I still can’t get over how good Jake Gyllenhaal looks as Mysterio, I have a feeling a huge part of this movie is going to be one big illusion. Also, does it take place before Avengers: Endgame or after it?

I’m not the biggest Spider-Man fan out there. He isn’t on any of my ‘Favorite Fictional Characters’ list. But I do respect him as a character. That is why I was excited to watch the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home and see if Sony would be sharing some hints about what to expect from Avengers: Endgame.

Here’s the official teaser trailer (which I also reacted to)! The studio really went out of its way to edit the date from Peter Parker’s passport. Ha!

From all of the information I could gather, I do think Spider-Man: Far From Home is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Hear me out.

With Endgame releasing on April 26, 2019, I think all of the events which occurred during the time jump in that movie will be undone and in a sense, it would be as if Thanos never snapped his fingers. That is why things look normal in the Far From Home trailer.

As for any casualties, I think Tony Stark (and maybe Captain America, too) dies which is why you see Pepper Potts’ signature on the check Happy has in the trailer. It would also explain why Happy tells Peter he is alone because after Stark’s death the Avengers might have disbanded.

Coming to the illusion part of things, my theory is Mysterio wants to set himself as a hero and he is the one causing people to think it is the Elementals that are attacking instead of Hydro-man, Electro, or Sandman.

What I want to say is due to Spider-Man: Far From Home featuring Mysterio, it would be wise not to believe what we see in the trailer. More than half of the movie could be one big illusion. His green energy beams might seem like magic, but I think he is using alien technology of some kind. The green cloud he seems to be flying on does come across as a concealed glider of some sort.

Grace Randolph has done an interesting breakdown!

Anyway, what do you think? Is Spider-Man: Far From Home set after Avengers: Endgame?
