The official trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has been released and a lot is happening. Do not watch this trailer if you haven’t watched Avengers: Endgame yet and you don’t wish to be spoiled. Let’s break it all down!

Spoiler Warning! This article has spoilers for Avengers: Endgame. You have been warned!

The footage shown in the Spider-Man: Far From Home official trailer has so many spoilers it begins with Tom Holland cautioning viewers.

Again, proceed at your own risk!

Basically, after Tony’s demise in Avengers: Endgame (do read our review), Peter is understandably sad. People are also asking about whether or not he will be the next Iron Man. I really hope the message of this film is how Peter understands it is okay being Spider-Man and he doesn’t have to fill Tony Stark’s shoes. Maybe these people are talking figuratively about Peter being Iron Man?

I say this because if someone does need to take Iron Man’s place, we have other (better) options with Shuri being the frontrunner or even Riri Williams.

Turns out, after Tony’s snap, a rip opened in the main dimension. This is what led to Mysterio appearing (being played by Jake Gyllenhaal). It is interesting to see how Kevin Feige allowed Sony to talk about possible multiverses instead of tackling the issue in an MCU installment from Disney/Marvel.

Sony has already done it with the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Here’s my breakdown of the trailer!

There are already a lot of fan theories out there due to this trailer. If you are familiar with Mysterio as a character, you know it wouldn’t be wise to trust anything he says. That is why some fans think he is lying about multiverses.

Perhaps he is trying to open a portal to the multiverse for nefarious purposes? Some fans aren’t even sure if it is the real Nick Fury in the trailer.

There is also a theory about Mysterio being an older version of Peter Parker. Maybe the alternate, older version of Peter decided to fill Tony’s shoes and it led to a whole lot of trouble down the line? He is also wearing a wedding ring. Perhaps his version of Mary Jane died?

Again, with Mysterio involved, it would do you good not to trust anything you see.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in US theaters on July 2, 2019.
