‘The Strangers: Prey at Night’ Gets Creepy Official Trailer

The Strangers Prey at Night Poster Aviron Pictures Trailer

Moviegoers that have been craving something intense after holiday films, potential award contenders, and superhero blockbusters can look forward to The Strangers: Prey at Night on March 9, 2018.

If The Strangers: Prey at Night sounds familiar to you, it’s because the upcoming film is a sequel to 2008’s The Strangers, which starred Scott Speedman (Animal Kingdom) and Liv Tyler. The Strangers went on to gross $82.4 million on a $9 million budget. While it took a long time for a sequel to be made, it’ll be right to assume that distributer Aviron Pictures is expecting similar box office results from the upcoming offering.

The Strangers: Prey at Night stars Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Lewis Pullman (Battle of the Sexes), Martin Henderson (Everest), and Bailee Madison (Just Go With It).  The film was co-written by The Strangers director Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai. It was directed by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down).

Here’s the official synopsis:

A family’s road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s every limit as they struggle to survive.

Aviron Pictures is a new film distributor that came to rescue the Halle Berry starrer Kidnap after the Relativity Media drama. Kidnap was finally released on August 4, 2017, and went on to gross $32.7 million after Aviron Pictures bought the distribution rights for $3 million. It ranked No.1 on rental charts in December 2017. The film is still in the Top 10.

Kidnap was released on Blu-ray and DVD on October 31, 2017. It also got Halle Berry an Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture nomination at the 49th NAACP Image Awards.

Let’s see what kind of movies Aviron Pictures continues to distribute. The Strangers: Prey at Night currently has a March 9, 2018, theatrical release date.
