The ‘Evil Dead Rise’ Trailer Gave Me Everything I Wanted!

Evil Dead Rise Trailer 2023

The trailer for the upcoming latest installment in the long-running Evil Dead series has been released! I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to experience onscreen gore, horror, and perhaps some comedy when Evil Dead Rise hits theaters on April 21, 2023.

Debuting all the way back in 1981, the first Evil Dead movie paved the way for a bunch of sequels starring Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) and even a highly-enjoyable live-action series Ash vs the Evil Dead that ran from 2015 to 2018 for three seasons and a total of 30 episodes. As for the movie franchise, we got a sort of reboot called Evil Dead in 2013. Now, after basically a 10-year break, Evil Dead Rise will serve as another return to the movie series come April 21, 2023.

Written and directed by Lee Cronin, the premise of the upcoming movie deals with two adult sisters Beth (Lily Sullivan) and Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) trying their best to survive the Deadites. And yes, this time around, three kids are involved, too. The setting is also different, with the horrific events taking place in a cramped apartment in L.A instead of the iconic cabin in the woods. But it does like the cabin will be involved somehow.

Apparently, the narrative will involve the concept of motherhood, which is also evident from the promo images.

With what I know about the Evil Dead franchise, I will not be surprised if not all of the characters make it out alive at the end. Also, I have a feeling that one of the kids, played by Morgan Davies, might also be queer in the film. Let’s see.

And for those wondering, Evil Dead Rise has been produced by Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Robert Tapert.

Here’s the trailer!

Here’s the link to the gruesome red band trailer because YouTube won’t allow me to embed it in this post.
