Marvel announced today the return of its star-studded Women of Marvel! Launching in March 2022 and featuring a lineup of female creators, Women of Marvel #1 will continue the tradition of highlighting Marvel’s fabulous female characters.

The Women of Marvel collection will also spotlight some incredibly talented real-life women, both seasoned veterans and up-and-coming talents. These women will put their own spin on some of Marvel Comics’ most iconic characters in an all-new collection of tales.

No doubt named after their long-running podcast of the same name, which is hosted by Ellie Pyle, Angélique Roché, and Judy Stephens and has been shining a spotlight on the numerous talented women from across the Marvel universe (comics, movies, etc.) who have made Marvel what it is today. The podcast usually holds a panel at both San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic Con, and it’s always one of my must-sees.

Writers for the collection include Charlie Jane Anders, Mirka Andolfo (in her Marvel writing debut!), Jordie Bellaire, Rhianna Pratchett, and Preeti Chhibber, among others. Artists include Jen Bartel, Zoe Thorogood, Marguerite Sauvage, and more. There will be more creative team announcements soon!

Here’s a little preview of some of the fun adventures we can expect when Women of Marvel #1 hits shelves in a few months:

  • A Squirrel Girl and Black Widow team-up against a maniacal villain in a story that explores the complexities of super hero identities by Hugo award winning writer Charlie Jane Anders
  • An action-packed Shanna the She-Devil and Silver Sable short sees the jungle ladies battle against wild animal poachers by award winning video game script writer Rhianna Pratchett
  • A dark Jessica Jones tale of compulsion and redemption from celebrated creator Jordie Bellaire and drawn by rising star Zoe Thorogood
  • A fun-filled page-flipper of Black Cat’s greatest failures and latest triumphes by novelist Preeti Chhibber and superstar artists Jen Bartel, Marguerite Sauvage and more!

Women of Marvel #1 arrives on March 9, 2022.
