Titans Road Trip? The Cast Talks Season 4 At NYCC 2022

Titans NYCC 2022

The Titans are going on a road trip! Sort of. Well, at least some of the cast of DC’s Titans did. Four years after their first appearance, the cast and crew returned to New York Comic Con to tease the upcoming season.

When Titans returns to HBO Max for season 4, the core group will be traveling back to San Francisco, by way of Metropolis. This kicks off a pretty intense storyline for Conner Kent (Superboy), as he struggles to understand where he came from. The Titans will also be dealing with the supernatural this season, facing off against a cult “with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before” and fearsome new adversaries Brother Blood and Mother Mayhem.

At the panel, they dropped a new trailer that showcases a bloody ritual overlaid by a chant that Titans fans will find very familiar.

Cast members Brenton Thwaites (Dick Grayson/Nightwing), Joshua Orpin (Conner) and Ryan Potter (Gar Logan/Beast Boy) as well as executive producer Greg Walker were on hand to talk about the series’ upcoming season. I was fortunate enough to be in the press room as they discussed why these particular villains were chosen, Conner’s upcoming storyline, that vision Dick had in season 3, and Gar’s brand-new super suit.

Gar’s new suit was designed by the incomparable Laura Jean “LJ” Shannon, who in addition to being the costume designer on Titans and Doom Patrol also worked on Elf, Iron Man, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Ryan talked about having to choose between the red/white and purple/black versions and how difficult a decision it was, considering how big a fan he is of Teen Titans.

Titans Season 4 premieres November 3 with a special two-episode premiere, followed by weekly episodes through December 1. Season 4 will return sometime in 2023 with an additional six episodes.
