TorCon Is Back for One-Day Extravaganza in June

TorCon 2022

TorCon is back! Tom Doherty Associates, a division of Macmillan, announced today that they will be hosting their third annual TorCon on Thursday, June 9.

TorCon, a virtual convention, was launched in 2020 when the world ended and many events moved online. The goal of TorCon was simple: bring the excitement of live book conventions into a virtual space. This one-day extravaganza will feature ten of your favorite (or, hopefully, soon to be favorite) authors. In a day of pure geekery, there will be panel discussions, exclusive reveals, content drops, sweepstakes, and more!

Tom Doherty Associates hosts some of The Geekiary’s favorite imprints, like Tor and Forge, which publish some of our favorite books. (Make sure you check out our book section for all our reviews!) The authors featured at TorCon 2022 are some you will not want to miss!

TorCon 2022 is presented in partnership with Den of Geek, Tor Books, Forge Books, Tordotcom Publishing, Tor Teen, and Nightfire.

The full schedule is below. You can register for the event for free here.

1 PM ET/10 AM PT: Magically Monstrous Murders and Mysteries

Rules are meant to be broken, and genre-boundaries are meant to be smashed. Join authors Sunyi Dean, Leopoldo Gout, Lev AC Rosen, Nghi Vo, and Neon Yang for a panel all about books that meld all of our favorite tropes into one magnificent story. This panel will also feature an exclusive sneak peek from Brian McClellan’s In The Shadow of Lightning, read by Damian Lynch, courtesy of Macmillan Audio.

6 PM ET/3 PM PT: Something Wicked This Way Comes

In our bookish coven, it’s always spooky season. Join Olivie Blake (The Atlas Six), Susan Dennard (The Luminaries), Catriona Ward (Little Eve), and Rita Woods (The Last Dreamwalker) for a panel on the deliciously dark tales they’re brewing up this Fall, and catch a pre-recorded sneak peek of Alecto the Ninth, read by Tamsyn Muir.
