Wednesday Webcomics: Cat Comics Galore!

As someone who doesn’t have a cat (yet), I’ve been enjoying cat-themed webcomics during the last few months. I discovered gems that made me smile and laugh. I have yet to find and read every single one on the internet, even those outside of WebToon and Tapas, but here are several of my favorite cat comics.

When I asked my cat owner friends what it’s like to have a cat, they told me something like, “It’s both a blessing and a hassle.” Cats provide comfort, warmth, and emotional support. And then there’s the scratching, the hairballs, the vet bills, and cleaning up the litter box. Like every pet, they need care and attention. The eight episodic cat comics below demonstrate the highs and lows of having a feline family member, or just the shenanigans of a cat or two (or more).

Vote Mr. Cat

Vote Mr. Cat by Sapphire Luna

A cat who, by luck, gets mistaken for a man after putting on a mustache and a hat. From there, he becomes the leader of his neighborhood watch group and then becomes interim mayor of his town. And then he starts running for the federal elections. The politics in Vote Mr. Cat are nonsensical, which makes it a fun read.

And also check out the creator’s other comic, Artist Cat Adventures!

Saphie The One Eyed Cat

Saphie: The One-Eyed Cat by Joho

Based on the creator’s real life cats, this webcomic shares their misadventures and shenanigans. Join cats Saphie, Simba, Sahn, and Sol as they navigate life with their human family. The series includes fictional episodes where the cats are turned into humans or they sneak into Jo’s luggage and travel to China.

Cat Versus Human

Cat vs Human by Yasmine Surovec

Surovec draws (pun intended) from her experiences with her cats. Short stories and fairy tale retellings are also included, like Rapunzel with cats and an adorable story about a robot and a kitten.

Cat's Cafe

Cat’s Café by Matt Tarpley

A cat decides to open a café. A penguin becomes a regular customer ordering the largest cup of coffee. The cat hires a struggling bunny. Most of the episodes discuss mental health issues and provide uplifting messages.

Milo and Molly

Milo & Molly by Chlumy (creator’s site unavailable)

A cozy comic about the daily life of the cat couple Milo and Molly. The panels have no dialogue, but the character expressions and images themselves are enough to have an emotional impact. Reading this is like settling down with a hot cup of tea after a long day.

Dr Cat MD

Doctor Cat, MD by Sarah Sobole

If you’re sick or injured, Doctor Cat is in the house! Yeah, he makes mistakes and can be wrong at times, but cut him some slack. After all, he’s a cat who just happens to be a doctor.

Pixie and Brutus

Pixie and Brutus by Ben Hed (Pet Foolery)

Brutus, a veteran war dog, and Pixie, a kitten, become friends. Personally, I love reading about cats and dogs being friends, and this comic is a heartwarming experience. In between comical and endearing moments, the comic features flashbacks of Brutus’s time in Iraq, providing context to the PTSD he’s coping with in the present.

Cat and Cat

Cat and Cat Comics by Susie Yi (Soojimoo)

It begins with one cat…and then another, then another, and then a dog. So, what if your pets speak back to you? Cat and Cat Comics explores that, resulting in hilarious scenarios. Most of the comics in this series contain motivational messages about acceptance, dealing with bullies, and more.

Do you have a favorite cat comic not listed here? Feel free to comment below. Chances are that I haven’t read it yet. I love to hear from you!
