Sometimes a show will catch my attention right during its promotional circuit, and Why Women Kill happens to be that show. With an exciting cast and an interesting premise, I’m looking forward to checking out this series come August 15, 2019.

I decided to watch the trailer for Why Women Kill because I love Lucy Liu. I wasn’t disappointed by the content the trailer included. Apparently, we’re going to get the stories of three women who are separated by three decades and are dealing with three cheating husbands.

The upcoming show, from Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids creator Marc Cherry, has been described as a dark comedy. It will premiere on CBS All Access (Star Trek: Discovery) this August.

Ginnifer Goodwin plays Beth Ann. She’s a housewife from 1963 who finds out about her husband’s affair with a waitress.

Lucy Liu stars as Simone, who is all about the ’80s-elegance. She has a superior air about her. However, things change when she realizes that her husband’s cheating on her with another man (likely many men).

Kirby Howell-Baptise is Taylor. Her story is set closer to the present. She’s bisexual and in an open marriage. The dynamics change when Taylor’s lover Jade (played by Alexandra Daddario) decides to stay at Taylor’s place for a while.

Here’s the very colorful trailer!

The cast also includes Jack Davenport as Karl, Reid Scott as Eli, Sam Jaeger as Rob, Sadie Calvano as April, Leo Howard as Tommy, Katie Finneran as Naomi, and Adam Ferrara as Leo.

The show is from Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. Cherry serves as executive producer alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo and Acme Productions’ Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis. Marc Webb also is an EP and directs the series premiere and one additional episode.

How do you feel about a partner who cheats?
