X-Files Vinimates Rekindle that Original Series Flame

X-FIles Vinimates

This week Diamond Select Toys released vinyl figures depicting classic Mulder and Scully, and I have to say that I’m excited to display these X-Files Vinimates!

I received both the classic Mulder and Scully vinyl figures and the modern Mulder and Scully 2-pack Minimates*, and as always Diamond Select has done a great job. The X-Files Vinimates are 4-inch static figures with ball-jointed necks; Mulder is depicted with hands on hips, while the Scully figure has her arms crossed. Personally I think she’s daring Mulder to disagree with her latest scientific/logical take on things.

The 2-inch tall Minimates are a bit more ‘mobile’, if you will; not only do more of their body parts move, but as with all Minimates they have parts and accessories that are interchangeable. There are weapons, of course, but my favorite is the second set of hands that are holding their badges. Their faces are different, too, with Mulder unshaven and Scully having blonde hair. They were designed by Art Asylum, and the set comes with display bases as well!

While I am definitely a fan of the original series over the revival, I do love the fun factor of the Minimates, though the larger X-Files Vinimates are definitely easier to display. Still, both options are available depending on whether you prefer young Mulder and redhead Scully over their new, er, more mature, looks. (Or vice versa, of course.)

You can purchase the Classic Mulder and Scully X-Files Vinimates for $9.99 each on the Diamond Select Toys website. The X-Files Minimates Modern Mulder and Scully come in a 2-pack that also costs $9.99.

*Please note that I received these items in return for a non-biased review, and all opinions on review items are my own sincere ones.
