“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” Lives Up to Its Promise of an Epic Adventure and More!
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish exceeds its promise of being an epic adventure featuring the infamous feline from the Shrek franchise. The sneak preview for the feature (limited release for one day) has been an enjoyable feat.
Thanks to Paragon Theaters for providing a sneak preview of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish on November 26, 2022. All opinions are my own.
Following the events of the first Puss in Boots movie, Puss continues his adventures and mishaps. He’s a cat, and after all, cats have nine lives. But after a brush with death, Puss discovers he’s now down to his last life. He eventually decides to retire at a cat rescue home. Just as he is adjusting to life as a domestic cat, he learns about the Wishing Star and the map leading to it. If he gets to it first before anyone else, friend or foe, he could get his wish for nine more lives. So, joined by a dog he calls Perrito (Spanish for puppy), Puss begins to search for that star.
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish includes swift but smooth animation sequences, a memorable cast, and intriguing histories on featured fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters. People who have watched the first Puss In Boots movie will recognize old friends like Kitty Softpaws and enjoy newcomers from Goldilocks and The Three Bears (not to mention cameos of previous Shrek characters). While the first Puss In Boots movie still holds up after its release over a decade ago, its successor achieves well-written execution and goes beyond audience expectations.
The film provides a delightful experience for fans and new watchers of all ages. The Last Wish contains a familiar but powerful message about cherishing those little moments in life and appreciating what’s already there. The dynamics between Puss and the supporting characters, particularly Kitty Softpaws and Perrito, become endearing as the story progresses.
This animated film is an overall delight for the Holiday season!
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish releases in the United States on December 21, 2022.
