Breyer has announced the release of Hope, the limited-edition 2021 Freedom Series Horse of the Year. This year’s horse, while looking stunning, will also be giving back to the community by partnering up with Covenant House to fight homelessness.

For every purchase of the Hope horse, one dollar will be donated to the Covenant House, an internationally recognized organization providing food, shelter, immediate crisis care, and an array of specifically designed in-house programs supporting young adults across the US, Canada, and Latin America experiencing homelessness.

Talking about the design, the Hope horse has markings on her coat that reveal hidden images and the word “Hope”, to celebrate the message of unity and a brighter future.

There are millions of homeless youth in the US alone (do read my review of the documentary Lost in America), with members of the LGBTQ+ community being at a higher risk of homelessness as well as facing a higher risk of assault, trauma, and more hardships. For those wondering, Covenant House continues to work to offer a safe space and resources to such LGBTQ+ youth.

So, if you have the means to help homeless youth while being the owner of a beautiful-looking collectible, do consider purchasing the Hope horse.

You can purchase this horse directly from Breyer, Amazon, Specialty Retailers, and Tack Shops. The MSRP is $24.99.

If you’re interested in more family-friendly horse-centric fun, tickets are now available for BreyerFest, the annual model horse festival. The upcoming virtual festival will be held July 16-18, 2021.

You will get to participate in contests, workshops, seminars, model horse shows, hobby activities, and more during BreyerFest weekend. Of course, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about unique horse breeds from around the world.

There are over 200 hours of exclusive pre-recorded and live content to look forward to!

To honor its theme of “Horse of a Different Color,” BreyerFest will hold a spotlight on uniquely patterned and colorful horses, the wide spectrum of artistic expression found in the model horse hobby, and the art world that makes a statement with every brush stroke and sculpture.

Not only that:

BreyerFest’s belle of the ball is its Celebration Horse, Danash’s Northern Tempest. “Dani” is an Appaloosa-Friesian cross with striking leopard Appaloosa markings. Standing out from the herd of traditional bays, chestnuts, and greys, Dani and her owner Laura Reese are gaining attention in the hunter ring for their flashy appearance and beautiful movement. Dani’s hand-painted Breyer model comes exclusively with every All-Access ticket.

Joining Dani are Guest Horses Queen of Hearts, a hunter mare with a colorful side; Rheverence+, a versatile buckskin overo Pinto half Arabian; and Apollo del Solis, a PRE stallion with green eyes and a metallic gold coat that’ll take your breath away! Both young and seasoned horse lovers are in for a treat, as attendees will have exclusive access to behind-the-scenes videos and interviews featuring these equine stars and their owners, as well as the opportunity to bring home their Breyer models.

As for the tickets:

  • The All-Access tickets ($75) come with a Traditional scale (1:9) Breyer model of Celebration Horse Dani and the ability to register for workshops, contests, and the model horse show.
  • The General Admission tickets ($20) come with an exclusive BreyerFest Stablemates scale (1:32) model.

The good news is that both tickets give virtual attendees access to over 200 hours of live and pre-recorded content, including seminars, interviews, and equine demonstrations. Ticket holders also have access to a specially curated collection of films from the renowned EQUUS Film Festival!

Take note; All-Access tickets are on sale through June 7, while supplies last.
