We’re Celebrating 9 Years Of The Geekiary!
The Geekiary’s 9th Anniversary is coming up on March 3rd. To celebrate, we’ve got a 3-day schedule of giveaways, articles, and special content headed your way!
Can you believe it’s been 9 years of The Geekiary?? It’s a little surprising for us, too. Let’s face it, the last couple of years have been so strange that most of us barely know what year it is.
Those years have been a challenge for The Geekiary. With so much of our content focused around conventions and fandom activations, we had a CONCERN about readership during quarantine. A lot of outlets have folded or had to cut back on their team to stay in the game.
Thanks to you, our readers, we’ve managed to survive. We’re even (just a little) thriving. Our team is bigger now than it was in 2020, and our readership is growing at a slower but steady pace. Because you’ve stayed engaged with The Geekiary, we’re paying our contributors more as well. That’s something we’re incredibly grateful for, and we want to show it.
Normally we do the number of our anniversary in celebration days. It feels like we’re getting to the point where that is a little much (which is an AWESOME problem to have!), though. We’ve decided on a 3×3 Anniversary instead of spreading content over 9 days. That’s 3 pieces of special content every day for 3 days.
What kind of content can you expect? Each day we’ll bring you a 9th anniversary article by one of our senior staff members. You’ll also see a daily flash giveaway and an interactive activity celebrating The Geekiary’s favorite fandoms and activities. On our actual anniversary, March 3rd, we’ll have a webcast with some of our long-time team members.
From all of us to you, thank you for staying with us over the last 9 years. Here’s looking forward to what comes next- with fans like you, we know it’ll be an incredible journey.
