Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for A Quiet Place: Part 2 to usher in 2020. I can’t wait to see the new horrors the Abbott family has to go through.

When the first A Quiet Place was released in 2018, it ended up becoming a surprise blockbuster hit. For many, it was an unforgettable experience, urging viewers to stay silent as the story unfolded on the big screen.

Frankly, I thought we didn’t need a sequel.

However, after watching the first official trailer for A Quiet Place 2, I am so here for it! I need to watch the entire film right now! It looks so good!

The sequel has also been directed and co-written by John Krasinski. The returning cast includes Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. New cast members are Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.

The official plot summary reads:

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Here’s the trailer!

Due to the upcoming sequel featuring flashbacks, it is safe to assume that Krasinski will be back as Lee Abbott (in some capacity).

Lee was killed during the first film.

And, of course, I had to react to the trailer!

The released promotional content made me remember The Walking Dead series and how it has focused on humans being more dangerous than the undead.

I think we will be getting something similar in A Quiet Place: Part 2 with Blunt and Murphy’s characters being in disagreement over whether or not certain people are worth saving.

Talking about Murphy’s character (a name hasn’t been revealed as of writing this), is it just me or will this new film give us some kind of queer representation?

I’m not saying I won’t watch this movie if it doesn’t include queer rep, but if the writers decided to give Murphy and Hounsou’s character a tragic romance, I won’t complain.

Paramount Pictures will be releasing A Quiet Place: Part 2 in US theatres come March 20, 2020.
