Naruto x 683 Review: I Had The Same Dream As You
After separating Naruto and Sasuke, this week’s manga issue focused on the rest of the characters present on the battlefield. The issue also told us a bit about Kaguya’s powers and it served to make Sakura useful again… hopefully.
It seems that with all the power from the Sage of the Six Paths, Naruto and Sasuke are helpless against Kaguya’s dimension jumping power. Naruto tried to save Sasuke, he couldn’t, and he had to fight Kaguya on his own. Naruto’s concern for Sasuke was quite obvious from the panels. He couldn’t sense him anymore and he needed him to defeat the villain. All he could do was try to defend himself against the antagonist’s attacks.
This issue showed the powerful female ninja being one with nature, the ice world itself began to attack the hero. The panels showing Naruto being attacked by a snow storm was amazing. Considering how Kaguya attacked the young ninja, I think beating him up in the lava world would’ve made more sense. But then again, that would’ve guaranteed Naruto’s death. So, an all-out Ice World vs. Naruto is what we got this issue. In the dessert world, Sasuke isn’t having any luck either. Kaguya didn’t go to fight him. I think she wants him to die due to dehydration. But again, shoving him into the lava world would’ve made more sense.
Obito was revived because of Naruto; however, I think he’s unable to use the eye powers that Madara gave him. I was half expecting Kishimoto to waste the issue on a recap about what happened during Madara’s battle, but Naruto’s clone told him everything off-panel, which allowed them to progress the plot further. Sakura stepped up and said she wanted to help, even though she was doubtful that she could be useful. I really think Kishimoto should give her character something to do. Pushing her to the sidelines isn’t doing her any good. She’s the lead female character, and she should be able to something before the series ends instead of just pinning after Sasuke-kun.
In the real world, the four previous Hokage’s met up and found the lower half of Madara’s body. They decided to bring him back to life but the Sage of the Six Path’s appeared in front of them. It’s time for the Hokage’s to get some sort of a power up.
Obito was the one who figured out how Kaguya’s powers worked and offered to bring back Sasuke. However, he needed a lot to chakra for jumping into someone else’s dimension. In the end, he decided to take Naruto’s clone and Sakura with him, because of three years’ worth of chakra stored in her Hyakugou seal. It was quite surprising to know that the power stored in Sakura’s seal was more than the power present in Naruto’s clone. Even though I’m happy that Sakura decided to sacrifice her seal’s power to save Sasuke, I’m worried she won’t be able to do much after depleting her chakra. The issue ended with Kakashi staying behind to help Naruto’s real body while Obito, Naruto’s clone, and Sakura got ready to jump into one of Kaguya’s dimensions to find Sasuke. As far as Obito’s development is concerned, I think I have to accept the fact Kishimoto wants to redeem him. I just hope he dies in the end or else his character won’t have the same kind of impact.
What did you think of this week’s issue of Naruto? What will the Sage tell the Hokage’s? Will Obito be able to save Sasuke? What will Sakura do? Please share in the comments section below.
