“Jack & Joker” Special Episode Coming This February
It’s been a little less than two weeks since the final episode of Jack & Joker aired (and only just about a week since I told you all that you should watch it). And today we got the fantastic news that the cast is coming back for a special episode!
Earlier this week, a bunch of images circulated on Tumblr that seemed to indicate a special episode of Jack & Joker had been filmed. (For those unfamiliar with Asian dramas, special episodes are fairly common. They air sometime after the show has officially concluded and usually involve a time skip and something big happening – generally a wedding.) I’ve not yet to been able to find the source for the photos, but most of them have the official logo on them.
The main image that made everyone flip out featured stars Yin Anan (Jack) and War Wanarat (Joke) in suits, posing with the actress that plays Jack’s grandmother in the series. It definitely looked like a wedding photo.
Well, today, fortune smiled upon us. Yin and War kicked off their fan meet tour, and during the event, they showed a short clip that turned out to be a preview for a special episode of Jack & Joker. And it does, in fact, contain a wedding.
The video is ripped from the livestream of the event, and it’s yet to be posted by either the official Jack & Joker social media, or the social media for Yin and War’s production company, YWPB. (Of course, it is currently about 5am in Thailand.) And the theme of their fan meet was “Life is but a Dream”, which had some fans worried that it was all part of the theme.
However, there’s an actual date in the video, and I don’t think they’d be mean enough to their fans to release official photos and an actual teaser with a given date, and then be like, “Ha ha, just kidding!” So it looks like we are getting a special episode, and we’re getting a Jack/Joke wedding, and I couldn’t be happier.
A reoccurring complaint that I’ve seen about Jack & Joker is that the mains didn’t really have that much time to be happy. To be fair, this is a show about people indebted to a crime boss who goes on a power trip, so I personally feel that any cute moments were worth it. (Do you have any idea how many ships I have where one of them dies?)
Special episodes tend to be lighter in tone and lack a lot of the conflict of a full series, so I’m sure a lot of us are hoping we just get, like, an hour of Jack and Joke being adorable and in love. Fans are also cautiously optimistic that we’ll get some confirmation about Tattoo and Aran as well.
(Although if you want to watch Yin and War being domestic, look no further than than the concept video for their fan meet. Photos with this concept were on all of the promotional material; I just about died.)
So keep your eyes peeled for more information, but it looks like the special episode will drop February 22, 2025. Which gives you all plenty of time to watch the series before it comes out!
