Loot Pets February 2016: The Dead Collection
I’ve now received three of Loot Crate’s Loot Pets boxes, and every one of them has been great – with The Dead Collection being tops on the list for the doggie treats alone.
Although I didn’t review my January Loot Crate, which included awesome items such as an X-Files t-shirt for my pup and a Space Invaders leash, you’ll see some of those items pop up in our first ever Loot Crate giveaway, which is coming soon! (Please note that no giveaway items were previously used.) However, my dogs loved so many of the items in The Dead Collection that I think they may keep this one all to themselves…
As usual, the presentation of these boxes astound me. And I’m not just talking about the fact that the items are well-packaged and well-arranged; while the boxes look plain on the outside, a big part of the surprise is seeing what the inside looks like.
Of course my immediate reaction to The Dead Collection was “Walking Dead!”…but then I noticed the Deadpool shirt, which I knew plenty of people would want to see on my dog. But seriously, please pause for a moment to see how amazing the insides of these boxes are!
Okay, done with that? Now on to the Deadpool t-shirt. First of all, it’s cool, because it’s Deadpool and it says “Tacos?!” Unfortunately, the shirt itself did not quite fit my pup Rigby. Wendy isn’t too fond of the doggie clothes idea; to be honest I can’t say I really blame her. But Rigby doesn’t seem to care about wearing t-shirts, probably because they get him extra attention and that’s the kind of dog he is. Unfortunately, unlike the ugly Christmas t-shirt in the first Loot Pets box, “Loot Control”, and the X-Files shirt in the second box, this particular t-shirt didn’t fit him well (it was a bit too long down the back and tight across the shoulders). I think this was just the way the shirt was made and would fit a longer, slimmer dog quite well, but he obviously wasn’t comfortable, so after appeasing a few of my friends and taking a couple pictures (one of which you can find on our Instagram) we moved on to bigger and better things…treats, that is!
As you can see, Rigby clearly chose the “Night of the Living Chimichangas” the first time around, but they loved both those and the Zom Bones. Not surprising because they’ve enjoyed all of the previous treats (even the sweet potato crisps in the second Loot Pets box), but these are the ones they’re going crazy over. More their type of food, I suppose! (I’m not sure how I feel about that, considering they eat very healthily…no human food at all!)
The last item I finally handed over to them was the zombie squeaky toy. Wendy loves squeaky toys, but she’s also getting up there in years, so her version of playing is to toss them around for a couple minutes before settling down and just claiming them by keeping them with her. Or perhaps in this case she was just really sad for the zombie head?
(I swear she was chewing on it like five seconds before I took this picture. But it really does look like she’s upset about the zombie, no?)
All in all, this was the third hit in a row for Loot Pets. The treats are always high-quality, the t-shirt designs are great (though as I mentioned, the sizing can be a bit off; there are a lot of different dogs out there!), and the other random items are always a fun surprise. If you have dogs and want to spoil them with geeky items, I highly suggest giving Loot Pets a try!
