San Diego Comic-Con 2018 has ended and it gave fans a lot of geeky things to look forward to. On the fourth and last day of the convention, Riverdale took the stage to let fans know what they can expect from the show’s upcoming third season. A few teases were shared with the audience in a new trailer.

Even if you aren’t a fan of The CW’s Riverdale series, you have to admit the Archie comics-inspired show has amassed quite a passionate fandom that lives for the relationships and crazy plot lines. Riverdale season 2 was quite dark when it came to the individual character arcs and the lighting being used. Ha!

Anyway, I enjoyed the second season, especially because of Cheryl Blossom. We also got to know a lot more about the parents. So, of course, I am looking forward to the October 10, 2018 premiere date of Riverdale season 3.

The show’s SDCC 2018 panel talked about what fans can expect regarding certain character relationships. While Betty and Jughead will be going strong, Veronica and Archie are going to face some problems. Kevin and Moose are going to a be couple, too.

Betty’s crazy family is going to continue attracting focus. The new trailer has a scene showing her mother and sister being part of a cult.

Jughead’s mother and sister will be introduced in Riverdale season 3. Golden Globe Award-nominee Penelope Ann Miller has been cast as district attorney Ms. Wright. Her character is going to come after Archie because she wants to convict him for murder.

In more interesting news, it was revealed during the panel that the third season will have a musical episode. A flashback episode with the parents is also going to be a part of the upcoming season with the younger cast set to play their parents.

Also, Riverdale season 2 will be released on DVD on August 7, 2018.
