Michael B Jordan Releases Naruto Inspired Coach Collection

Michael B Jordan Naruto Coach

Actor Michael B Jordan has released a Coach collection inspired by Naruto.  The Capsule Collection ranges in price from $95 for a shirt to $2500 for a jacket.

It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that Michael B Jordan has a nerdy side. Let’s not forget back in 2018 when the Black Panther actor happily said that Naruto was his favorite anime. The memes were plentiful after that interview. Now, he’s doing what any successful and business savvy nerd would do if given the resources and turning his geeky hobby into an opportunity. Honestly, I’d do the same.

The Naruto inspired clothing line – known officially as the Capsule Collection- isn’t exactly cheap, but it’s Coach so if you were hoping for affordability you’re barking up the wrong tree here. A $95 t-shirt is certainly out of my budget, but for the fashionable Naruto geeks with some cash to burn, you can go get it here. The Naruto aviation jacket, however, is the highlight of the collection to me, which you can view here. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

There’s also shoes, bags, hoodies, and pouches. Check it out. It’s a fairly broad line of clothing with lots of different items to choose from.

“It was important to design pieces that represent my cultural influence and my community; pieces that I could see my friends, family, and fans wearing with pride,” Jordan said of the collection. “As with all aspects of my work, this collection is about bringing fresh perspectives and unique voices to the forefront. Expanding into the fashion design space was rewarding beyond my expectations. I’m grateful to Stuart and Coach for providing me with the opportunity and expertise to execute a collection. I’m extremely proud of.”

The dweeb energy here is astounding and I’m totally here for it. I’m particularly fond of the behind the scenes photoshoot in People that has Michael B Jordan standing in a bamboo forest in his Naruto clothes. Michael B Jordan saw an opportunity to go full blown geek and he took it. Let your geek flag fly, man. Make that dough.

Nerd culture has been seeping into high fashion for a while now, but it’s certainly picked up speed lately. This isn’t the first time Coach specifically has branched into the geek market, either. Last spring we took a look at the new Disney line of products. The cross section of geekery and fashion has a strong market and Coach seems to be catching onto that trend. It’s a smart move. Geekery is an expensive hobby to begin with.

Naruto will have a large presence at New York Comic-Con with Viz. It’ll be part of a wider 20th anniversary celebration of the series. According to Newsarama, the Naruto Coach collection will have a presence at the booth if you want to see some of the pieces in person. Otherwise, you can purchase the collection via Coach’s website or their stores.

Going to New York Comic Con this year? Swing by the booth and tweet us some pics of the pieces! We’d love to see them.
