Bandai “Anime Heroes” Naruto Uzumaki Collectible Action Figure Review
The Bandai Anime Heroes series includes a collection of figures for one of the most iconic mainstream anime properties around, Naruto. Fans can collect Kakashi Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha, Itachi Uchiha, and of course, the main hero of the Hidden Leaf Village Naruto Uzumaki.
I was provided with the Bandai America “Anime Heroes” Naruto Uzumaki figure for free. The opinions I have shared are my own.
The Anime Heroes series is a recently launched product line by Bandai America. This line features fan-favorite characters from the Naruto and Saint Seiya franchises. One of the goals of this line is to incorporate quality and realism to offer something that’s great for collectors as well as enjoyable for fans who wish to play with these action figures.
I suggest you go and read our interview with Cisco Maldonado (Senior Director – Brand Strategy, Bandai America) to learn more about the Anime Heroes figures.
The Naruto line includes Kakashi Hatake, Sasuke Uchiha, Itachi Uchiha, and Naruto Uzumaki. These figures measure 6.5-inches in length and have more than 16 points of articulation. They also come with two additional sets of switchable hands as well as character-specific accessories.
Coming to the Naruto Uzumaki figure, I liked how his character-specific accessory included his powerful Rasengan. He’s wearing his iconic orange and black jumpsuit (which is quite well-detailed). Retailing at only MSRP $19.99, I was quite impressed by the articulation. Basically, every part of this figure moves. Such freedom allows collectors to pose this little Naruto in a variety of poses. He can also stand on its own, which is always a plus when it comes to figures you want to display.
He looks quite good with that scowl.
For those worrying about the switchable hands, don’t. It’s very easy to pull them off and place a new one to help change Naruto’s pose. Depending on which hands you choose, Naruto will be able to hold his kunai. The Rasengan simply pops into the hand with a hole in it. And yes, you can make him do his Shadow Clone Jutsu pose, too.
The packaging is quite attractive and has Naruto’s anime face on the front. The large window allows you to display the figure and accessories without needing to take everything out of the box. If I were to nitpick, I would say that there should have been some kind of backdrop behind the figure to make the in-box display option look even cooler.
The durability factor is present in this plastic action figure. You can play with the joints without worrying about breaking them. The joints are also quite firm so Naruto will maintain the pose you want him to strike.
For those who might not know, Bandai America landed four products on The Toy Insider’s Top Holiday Toy List with the Anime Heroes line being one. So, you know you’ll be opting for a quality product when selecting any of the Anime Heroes figures.
While The Geekiary’s writer and editor Farid continues to wish for Sakura Haruno to be added to the Anime Heroes line to complete Team 7, the Naruto, Kakashi, Itachi, and Sasuke figures are currently available at retail stores (Amazon, Target, GameStop).
