Psycho-Delphia, a convention specifically for fans on the USA television show Psych (2006-2014), debuted on Friday April 11th through April 13th in Philadelphia, PA.

Following the first reunion convention of the Psych cast in 2024 in Schaumburg, IL, Journey Events contracted the cast for what will be an ongoing series of Psych themed conventions. Journey Events “[specializes] in creating unforgettable connections between fans and celebrities. With a passion for the entertainment industry, we craft dynamic conventions and shows designed to transport attendees on an unforgettable journey.”

The event began Friday night with a karaoke contest themed after Season 2 Episode 1 “American Duos” hosted recurring Psych guest star, Sage Brocklebank. Saturday and Sunday featured panels, autographs, and photos with series co-stars James Roday Rodriguez (Shawn Spencer), Dulé Hill (Burton Guster), Timothy Omundson (Carlton Lassiter), Maggie Lawson (Juliet O’Hara), Corbin Bernson (Henry Spencer), Kirsten Nelson (Karen Vick), and Kurt Fuller (Woody Strode). The event also featured show creator Steve Franks, crew members, guest stars, and a special appearance by Curt Smith of Tears For Fears.

The Art For Kindness raffle also ran throughout the weekend, with fans entering to win fanart of iconic characters and moments from the series. All donations go to Philabundance: a virtual food drive.

Saturday night marked the highlight of the weekend with a never before seen ‘Play in One Act’ featuring the Psych characters.

For fans, however, this was more than just an opportunity to meet their favorite stars. Trading tokens such as bracelets, key chains, and pineapples. The practice has created strong bonds between fans and remains a key aspect of Psych fan culture.

With eight seasons and three movies, Psych is experiencing a renaissance due to a combination of the ongoing Psych Cons and a podcast hosted by Lawson and Omundson called The Psychologists Are In. This increased popularity leaves fans hopeful that Peacock will sign off on Psych 4

It’s clear that wherever Journey Events and Psych land next, it will continue to have a momentous impact on both fans and cast.
