We got a lot of information in this episode. It’s information that I think most of us sussed out already, but it’s nice to have the confirmation. And honestly, I’m not entirely sold that this is everything to know.

Well, we have to start with where the last episode left off, because that was a doozy of a cliffhanger. But before we get to Dream and her condition, let’s take a look at the flashback we got between Kit and Wiwat. Not only were they friends, but they were both doctors.

As many people speculated, the way that Wiwat “escaped” Leap Day was by transferring the curse to someone else – in this case, Night and Day. It’s not connected to death, though. It’s connected to birth. But transferring the curse basically means you’re responsible for whatever death and destruction follow. Wiwat was willing to make this “sacrifice” to protect his loved ones (remember, this would have been around the time he got married), while Kit was not. This was likely the cause of their rift.

Anyway, back to Dream. One of the things that Kit said to Wiwat to talk him out of what he was going to do was that, as doctors, they’re supposed to save people. So Kit can’t bring himself to leave when someone needs his help. He goes to help Dream, bandaging her wounds and starting CPR.

Shockingly – or perhaps not so shockingly – Wiwat also comes to help. I’m still not entirely sure whether or not it was Wiwat who hit Dream. It certainly looks that way; the car that hit her looked an awful lot like Wiwat’s car, and he was there at the scene. Plus, he had a full medical kit, including a defibrillator. As someone who supposedly doesn’t practice medicine anymore. He just happened to have that in his car?

But I can’t fathom why Wiwat would hit Dream… Unless it was solely so that he could manipulate Night. Which I’m starting to think may be the case, because this guy is so calculating.

Wiwat goes with Night and Dream in the ambulance while Day and Ozone go to the police station with Kit. Wiwat uses his connections to get better care for Dream, then brings Night to the roof to offer to help with his Leap Day curse. Day manages to finagle ten minutes with Kit to get his questions answered, and Kit explains what he knows about the curse and how to “cure” it.

Interestingly, there are conditions on the curse. (I suppose that’s true of all curses, though.) The fate is always shared, so it involves two people. One must be born at midnight (Night, Wiwat), and one must be born at noon (Day, Kit). As we learned in episode 6, Wiwat specifically induced Day’s mother so that he would be born on February 29. This makes me think that the reason he didn’t bother trying to save Day’s mother is because he knew it was pointless. (Still, he could have at least made an attempt, for the optics, if nothing else.) Wiwat tells Night that he passed the curse to the two of them, which leads me to wonder what, if any, hand he had in Night’s birth.

I mean, Night had to have been born first. If he was born second, he would have been born March 1, not February 29. So was he naturally born at that time, and then Wiwat induced Day’s mother so that she would give birth at noon, thus fulfilling the conditions of the curse? Aren’t inductions normally scheduled? How could he predict when she would give birth? Or did he induce both of them specifically to meet the conditions? Again, how could he have managed to deliver babies at precisely the right time?

My next question would be, why now? We know why Wiwat hasn’t said anything before; he doesn’t want to risk people finding out what he did. I am curious as to why he kept lying when questioned about it. If he didn’t want Day to know anything, he still had the opportunity to just tell Night. But he waited until Dream was injured – and may have injured her himself – because now Night is desperate enough to listen to the solution. Even so, Wiwat doesn’t need to give him the solution. So what is his game?

Kit, though, had 20 years to come forward. He had ample opportunity to approach Day and explain the situation. Why wait until now? I suspect it may have something to do with Ozone. Kit tells Day that he and Night have something that Kit and Wiwat never had – they have Ozone. The stars talk to Ozone. It’s possible that they will tell (or perhaps even have already told) him another way to end the curse.

Speaking of the stars, when Ozone was waiting for Day in the police station, the lights started flickering. It reminded me of the lights flickering in the stairwell in the previous episode, when Dream was trapped. I thought it was something sinister, but this scene seems to imply that the flickering lights are the stars talking to Ozone. So were the stars trying to talk to Dream last week?

The information the stars relay to Ozone this week is, “The days have met, the nights have met.” So Day has met Kit, who is the “day” side of his fate, and Night is with Wiwat, who is the “night” side. We knew that already, thanks, stars. Maybe give us some new information.

Anyway, when Wiwat details to Night how to transfer the curse, Night is initially furious. Wiwat is, after all, responsible for the deaths of everyone in Night’s family. And when Wiwat offers to help, Night scoffs and turns away. At first. But then Wiwat hits Night in his weak spot: Dream. Wouldn’t he do anything to ensure that Dream would be safe?

Likewise, Kit tries to convince Day that he has to talk to Night. Day doesn’t think that Night will do anything so cruel, but he does hesitate. He saw what Night was like after Dream was injured, and this is the second time she’s been rushed to the hospital. And when he calls Night to try and visit Dream, or even meet up so that they can talk, Night blows him off.

Wiwat’s story makes it sound as though there is only one solution, a cold and frankly evil option. He’s choosing to spring this on Night now because he’s desperate enough to be receptive to it.

The thing is, though, Night is completely overlooking the fact that they’ve already beaten one Leap Day. Even though Ozone and Dream were both injured, everyone lived through the day. That means there must be another way to survive the curse. And I still think the answer is somewhere in Ozone’s drawings. I have no idea what it may be, but there has to be something.

“Day and Night must meet.” Ozone has been saying it from the start. It must be related to the two of them being together.

I still have so many questions about Leap Day. How did it start? (It sounded like Kit was going to tell Day about it, but Day only cares about ending it, so he didn’t want to listen.) How did they find out the conditions, and how to transfer the curse? Has anyone bothered trying to find another solution in the past? I worry we won’t ever get answers to these questions.
