Boruto Two Blue Vortex manga issue 24, titled ‘Uzumaki Kawaki’, was a fast-paced chapter as Kawaki tried to buy Boruto time during their confrontation with Jura.

With Kawaki having arrived at the battlefield in the previous chapter, ‘Uzumaki Kawaki’ wasted no time when it came to having Kawaki attack Jura. With his limiters finally being taken off by Amado, we got to see Kawaki unleash a barrage of Jutsus against Jura. And while it did look like Kawaki was turning the tide in favor of the good guys, the narrative made it clear to readers that Jura was simply playing along with Kawaki’s outburst. As Boruto put it, even a 2 vs 1 wasn’t enough to defeat a monster-like being such as Jura. At least, not yet.

Having said that, I still enjoyed seeing Kawaki showcase a variety of Jutsu, even if his attacks were the ones we saw Jigen/Isshiki use during the Boruto era. A particular attack that did take me by surprise was Kawaki’s ability to transfer an energy blast into his staff to damage Jura without needing to touch Jura with his fists.

The flashback showed the conversation Boruto had with Kawaki that led to Kashin Koji seeing an updated future timeline. Boruto needed Kawaki’s limiters taken away so he could manage to buy Boruto the time required to detect the tracker in Konohamaru’s possession and use his version of Flying Raijin to teleport away from Jura. Like I said, Boruto knew they weren’t going to win against Jura from the start, but he had to come up with a plan to ensure his teammates didn’t die.

Another interesting moment during the battle was how Boruto asked Momoshiki to calm down when his Karma Mark started to act up after resonating with Kawaki’s unsealed Karma Mark. Fans had been speculating about Boruto’s Karma Mark giving our young lead a whole lot of trouble as soon as Kawaki showed up. Certain fans theorized that Momoshiki would take control of Boruto’s body and fight Jura.

Though that didn’t happen, at least we got confirmation that the resonance between the two Karma Marks still existed and that Boruto got worried even before the mark spread across his entire body. You can tell Momoshiki’s just waiting for an opportunity to appear.

As for Jura’s thoughts during the confrontation, he was intrigued by Kawaki’s sudden increase in power levels. Jura connected the dots in real-time and shared his speculation that human love was responsible for Himawari, Salad, and now Kawaki demonstrating power levels they didn’t have access to before. According to Jura, while human love was a weakness that hindered human evolution, in certain cases, it could be the sole factor to trigger an evolutionary change.

Himawari transformed into a different person after tapping into Kurama’s chakra. Salad’s forever changed due to unlocking her MS a few moments ago. And so had Kawaki, with his limiters being taken away. Everything connected back to love. That’s why Jura was even more interested in learning more about it.

Jura even figured out that Naruto was still alive. He’s OP. Smart. And sassy. So good!

Wanting to protect Naruto no matter what, Kawaki did promise he would be the one to kill Jura. So, let’s see when and how that promise comes to fruition.

With Boruto and Kawaki having escaped Jura and rejoined with Konohamaru, Salad (still unconscious. Ha!), Mitsuki, and Delta, I’m looking forward to seeing what Jura’s team will do next. Apparently, it’s Mamushi and Hidari’s turn to make a move. Mamushi’s going after Eida. Hidari will likely go after Salad.
