Trailer Released For Horror Comedy “Coyotes” Before October Premiere!

Coyotes – Official Poster

The official trailer for the upcoming horror comedy Coyotes has been released. Starring Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, the film will make its theatrical debut on October 3, 2025.

I don’t know what I was expecting when I decided to watch the trailer for Coyotes, but I have to say that after viewing it, I’m interested in checking out this R-rated film. Acquired by Aura Entertainment, the trailer was released ahead of the film’s premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20, 2025. The project is Long and Bosworth’s latest collaboration after Barbarian and House of Darkness in 2022. And yeah, for those who might not be aware, Long and Bosworth married each other in 2023. Their daughter was born in July of this year. Seeing actual couples play fictional couples has its own appeal.

Coyotes has been directed by Colin Minihan (Grave Encounters) and written by Tad Daggerhart (The Expendables 4) and Nick Simon (The Pyramid). As showcased in the trailer, the narrative is a survival story focusing on a family of three (husband, wife, and their young daughter) after being attacked by a pack of coyotes. From what I could understand, their neighbors get involved in the dire situation soon enough.

While it’s a horror comedy, the narrative does seem to feature themes of displaced wildlife to offer some kind of explanation for such a vicious pack of animals.

You can watch the trailer here! There are some intense, gore-filled scenes in there. So, proceed with caution! It’s R-rated after all.

‘Coyotes’ – Official Trailer

Yeah, I’m into the camp factor that this film is ready to deliver. Like, what do you mean the coyotes figured out how to open doors?!!!

Also, Justin Long has a charm when starring in such projects. And he seems to be having fun.

The director’s clearly passionate about it. According to Minihan, he described the first draft as having “bite. It had chaos. And most importantly, it had fun.”

At that time, his old dog was being stalked by actual coyotes in the Hollywood Hills. Minihan shared, “that real-world weirdness synced perfectly with the script’s energy. It wasn’t trying to be clever, or cool, or some kind of elevated genre exercise. It just was—wild, tense, funny, and totally unpredictable. A horror comedy-action beast that actually had the nerve to entertain.”

The movie also stars Brittany Allen, Minihan’s wife and creative partner. According to the press release, Allen plays Jules in the movie. She also “scored the entire film in our home studio at night while our kid slept upstairs. She gave the film its rhythm and heartbeat. That magic is in every scene,” said Minihan.

I hope it is received well when it hits theatres next month.

Are you excited about watching Coyotes? What did you think of the trailer?
