DC Comics Release September 2016 Solicitations: Raven Gets a Solo Series!

DC Comics Raven Issue 1 Rebirth

DC Comics has released its solicitations for September, 2016. A new wave of DC Rebirth titles will be debuting that month, and there are some I’m looking forward to reading.

One of the DC Comics titles that I always read is Teen Titans. The current series will be coming to an end with issue 24 in September. Ian Churchill and Norman Rapmund will be doing the art for the issue. The cover will be by Mike McKone.

“In this climactic issue, the team is forced to make a decision: continue fighting crime as the Teen Titans…or go their separate ways.” (via IGN)

The outcome really isn’t a surprise because in the same month Teen Titans: Rebirth #1 will be released. The premise of the issue deals with Damian Wayne trying to get the Teen Titans back together. I’m not a big fan of Damian Wayne. I find him to be quite annoying. Maybe writer Benjamin Percy will make me like him? The new character designs look cool.

Raven looks like an exciting series to read. The story will take place between Teen Titans #24 and Teen Titans: Rebirth #1. Raven is one my favorite comic book characters. Knowing that she’ll be getting her own solo-series this September is awesome.

“The White Carnival” part 1! In a tale set between TEEN TITANS #24 and TEEN TITANS: REBIRTH #1, Raven takes a break from the team and moves to San Francisco to stay with her estranged aunt and face her most perilous challenge yet: high school! As Raven discovers more about her human side, one of her classmates goes missing under mysterious circumstances, and she must face an evil like none she’s known before!” (via DC Comics)

Marv Wolfman returns to write the upcoming solo after serving the same role for the DC Special: Raven series back in 2008. Alisson Borges will handle the art for the series.
