“Evil Dead Rise” Get Digital Release May 9th! 4KUHD, Blu-ray & DVD Release This June!

Fans of the scary and gore-filled Evil Dead Rise will be able to experience the horrors at home come May 9, 2023. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will be releasing Evil Dead Rise on Digital tomorrow followed by a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on June 27, 2023!

Written and directed by Lee Cronin, the latest installment in the long-running Evil Dead franchise was met with positive reactions from fans and critics. The film stars Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher. It was produced by Rob Tapert with executive producers being Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, John Keville, Macdara Kelleher, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Romel Adam, and Victoria Palmeri.

Talking about the Digital release on May 9, 2023, the title will be available for ownership for $24.99. The 48-hour rental via PVOD will cost you $19.99. You can find it on Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, and Vudu.

For some reason, the press release I received didn’t have any details about what to expect from the upcoming 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release. Usually, press releases include a list of the extra features. So, that’s why, even though the information wasn’t shared, I do think the physical home release will have behind-the-scenes stuff. I would love to see a featurette going over the makeup process and how certain gore-filled effects were accomplished.

The 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and Digital Pack will cost you $44.98. The Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Pack can be yours for $34.98, and the DVD can be owned for $29.98.

The Runtime comes in at approximately 97 minutes and the film has been rated R for strong bloody horror violence, some language, and gore.

Talking about the plot, the movie takes place away from the iconic forest setting, this time opting for the city. We get to see two estranged sisters (Sullivan and Sutherland) and three kids trying to survive a demonic attack. I really liked the change in setting and how the kids were utilized after their mother got possessed. Also, seeing such a family trying to stay alive brought a new dynamic to the franchise compared to the group of young friends we have seen in previous chapters.

As of writing this, the film has gone on to gross more than $100 million at the global box office against a reported production budget of approximately $19 million, making it a success!
