Funko Games Announces “Avatar: The Last Airbender – Crossroads of Destiny” Co-Op Strategy Board Game!

Funko Games has announced a new board game titled Avatar: The Last Airbender – Crossroads of Destiny. The upcoming game has been described as a co-op strategy offering where you get to play as some of your favorite characters to try and defeat the Fire Nation.

The ATLA fandom has a lot to look forward to. From the upcoming live-action adaptation on Netflix to a bunch of animated movies and now this board game, I’m here for it! And Funk0 Games knows how to deliver!

Avatar The Last Airbender – Crossroads of Destiny will allow you to play as a member of Team Avatar. The characters include Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph. During the gameplay sessions, you will go through numerous story encounters. It also features combat challenges inspired by the series. Along the way, you will gain allies, master new skills, and work together to defeat the Fire Nation. The enemies include Zuko, Azula, Fire Lord Ozai, the Dai Li, and more.  

Take note; there are 15 narrative encounters and 12 replayable combat challenges. The pieces include 12 sculpted element tiles and acrylic hero movers.

You can play the game in two ways. There’s the multigame, story-driven journey or you can jump straight into any challenge you prefer.

From what I can tell, the replayability factor is increased due to your choices changing the gameplay. I don’t know about the mechanics yet, but you can choose your own destiny which allows for different outcomes. There are dozens of skills and unique character abilities for you to unlock.

As of writing this, the board game will cost you MSRP $32.99. It is meant for ages 10 and up and can be played by 2-4 players. The playtime is supposed to be 45 minutes. I think that’s per narrative encounter, but I could be wrong.

While a specific release date for Avatar The Last Airbender – Crossroads of Destiny hasn’t been shared yet, I am very excited about this new board game.
