‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ to Be Released As Text?

If recent buzz is to be believed, fans will get to read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child soon enough!

Let’s be real; not all of us can travel to London to experience the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child two-part West End stage play. According to News Tribe, two publishers are in negotiations to acquire the rights and release the play’s script, which is set nineteen years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The publishers are keeping their names secret, though.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will premiere at Palace Theatre on the 30th of July, 2016, and it is written by Jack Thorne. The casting news has already caused a stir in the fandom. If the script indeed gets released, I’m looking forward to seeing if Hermione Granger’s race will be mentioned. While some fans have accepted J.K. Rowling claiming that Hermione’s race has never been stated in the book series, others have countered it with a line from Prisoner of Azkaban describing Hermione’s face as “white”.

I’ll keep you updated regarding how negotiations to release the script for Cursed Child end up. Who knows, one of the publishers might get the permission to turn the script into a proper novel and then release it. The upcoming story is already being hailed as canon, and the possibility of reading it as a novel, even if it isn’t written by J.K. Rowling herself, is exciting. Masashi Kishimoto has done a similar thing with the Naruto Hiden novels, and Rowling might go the same route, too.

Will the whole script be released in its original form or will we get to read it as a novel? Let us know!
