Mobile Suit Gundam Wing 30th Anniversary at SDCC

It’s a year of fandom anniversaries, and where better to celebrate than San Diego Comic-Con? It’s the 30th anniversary of Gundam Wing, and Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. will be celebrating with a Gundam takeover of the convention.

Anyone who has attended SDCC in the past will know that Gundam is a perennial presence on the show floor. It’s always been a pretty photogenic experience. This year, Bandai Hobby (#3829) will showcase a special display just for the Gundam Wing 30th anniversary. Fans will be able to get up close and personal with a statue of the iconic Wing Gundam, as well as peruse a wide range of exclusive merchandise.

In addition to the booth takeover, Bandai Namco Filmworks will be hosting the “GUNDAM Showcase – Featuring 30 Years of Gundam Wing” panel on Thursday, July 24. The panel will highlight the latest updates from the 30th anniversary project and spotlight new developments from across the wider Gundam franchise.

And if you’re someone who likes collecting lots of swag from conventions, panel attendees will all receive a special, exclusive, yet-to-be-revealed gift.

Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Gundam Wing, a special panel titled “GUNDAM Showcase – Featuring 30 Years of Gundam Wing” will be held at SDCC, featuring Mark Hildreth, the English voice actor for Heero Yuy, Scott McNeil, English voice actor for Duo Maxwell, and Brad Swaile, English voice actor for Quatre Raberba Winner in “Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.” Fans are invited to attend for the latest updates on the “Gundam Wing 30th Anniversary” project and other Gundam-related news.
