PaleyFest NY Reveals First Wave of 2024 Events
The Paley Center for Media has revealed its first few events for this year’s PaleyFest NY, which will be held October 16-22 in New York City. Perfectly timed to coincide with New York Comic Con, this year’s PaleyFest NY will feature an exciting lineup of some of television’s biggest shows and hottest stars.
The Paley Center for Media is a cultural institution dedicated to preserving media history and exploring media’s influence in culture and society. With one location in Los Angeles and one in New York City, every year the center holds two multi-day festivals to celebrate what’s new, popular, and talked about in television. The New York festival is almost always held in October, in conjunction with NYCC. Sometimes the PaleyFest lineup can give a clue as to what NYCC fans can expect, but sometimes it offers a completely different array of programming.
The first events for this year’s PaleyFest NY have been revealed with at least one – Outlander – having confirmed that they will also have a panel at NYCC.

The three events that were announced today are:
Outlander: The 10th Anniversary Celebration: Wednesday, October 16
Somebody Somewhere: Friday, October 18
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon—The Book of Carol: Saturday, October 19
Outlander is already confirmed to also be coming to NYCC with a Thursday panel. Odds are pretty good that The Walking Dead spinoffs will also be there. The Walking Dead was a perennial presence at NYCC for years. (It was always, always on the badges. I have so many TWD badges, y’all. So many.)
Just to fend off any confusion – PaleyFest NY and NYCC are completely separate events. They just sometimes have similar panels. Having a badge to NYCC doesn’t get you into any PaleyFest NY events. But if you weren’t able to score a badge for all of the days, or you have some time to kill, or one of the PaleyFest events is something you’re excited about, you can purchase a ticket for any event that you’re interested in.
If you’ve never attended a PaleyFest panel, they have an entirely different vibe than an NYCC panel. PaleyFest tends to be more industry than fan, with more in-depth discussions. If you’re someone who is really interested in how television is made, I highly suggest trying to make at least one of the PaleyFest NY events.
