“Relish” Gets World Premiere at the Burbank International Film Festival!
For those looking for a movie starring a trans character, Relish is a feature film you should keep an eye on. Relish will have its World Premiere at the Burbank International Flim Festival.
The film has been directed and written by Justin Ward. It was produced by Terry Nardozzi. The cast includes Tyler DiChiara, Hana Hayes, Mateus Ward, Rio Mangini, and Chelsea Zhang.
Here’s the official description:
Set as a modern-day breakfast club, RELISH follows the story of five teenage outcasts, who escape a private treatment facility in hopes of attending the infamous Dreamland Music Festival. Led by a rebellious transgender male, Kai (Tyler DiChiara), and with help from Aspen (Hana Hayes), a social media influencer, Levi (Mateus Ward), a football player addicted to opioids, Theo (Rio Mangini), who suffers from bipolar disorder, and Sawyer (Chelsea Zhang) an alien obsessed nerd, the five embark on the journey of a lifetime.
According to the press release, the film “brings a level of authenticity to the heart-wrenching struggles and challenges faced by modern teens, especially by the transgender community today.”
The movie displays “an emotional, and inspiring tale about the powerful bond of friendship, dealing with one’s own personal demons, and learning that our differences make us special.”
Along with the World Premiere at 2019 Burbank International Film Festival, it will be in competition.
Mateus Ward served as the co-producer. Cinematography featured in the movie is by Bryan Koss. It was edited by Erik Swanson.
The runtime is 98 minutes. It hasn’t been rated yet. The genre is US/Drama.
