Yet another spin-off is ready to join the ever-expanding RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise. RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars will get a two-episode debut on Paramount+ come August 16, 2024.

The upcoming reality competition series will have 12 international Drag Queens battle it out for a cash prize of $200,000 as well as having their name added to the international pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame with the title “Queen of the Mothertucking World”.

The world is not ready for RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars,” shared host and executive producer RuPaul. “Twelve queens representing their home countries raises the stakes to a whole new level. Plus, the international mix of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent will, pardon my French, blow your f***ing minds.”

The cast includes:

  1. Alyssa Edwards (United States) from RPDR Season 5, and RPDR All Stars Season 2
  2. Gala Varo (Mexico) from Drag Race Mexico Season 1
  3. Pythia (Canada) from Drag Race Canada Season 2
  4. Kitty Scott-Claus (United Kingdom) from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 3
  5. Eva Le Queen (Philippines) from Drag Race Philippines Season 1
  6. Miranda Lebrão (Brazil) from Drag Race Brazil Season 1
  7. Athena Likis (Belgium) from Drag Race Belgique Season 1
  8. Vanity Vain (Sweden) from Drag Race Sweden Season 1
  9. Nehellenia (Italy) from Drag Race Italia Season 2
  10. Tessa Testicle (Switzerland) from Drag Race Germany Season 1
  11. Kween Kong (Australia) from RPDR Down Under Season 2
  12. Soa de Muse (France) from Drag Race France Season 1

As of writing this article, Alyssa Edwards’ is the clear favorite when it comes to the fandom’s sentiments. Whether or not she will win… we will find out soon enough.

With RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Jamal Sims being the mainstays of the judging panel, certain fans have raised concerns about the trio not being able to judge the non-USA and non-UK queens fairly due to the language and cultural gap even if international guest judges are invited.

Also, should contestants whose native language isn’t English be shown some leniency during acting and other challenges where they have to talk in English? Hmmm.

Whatever happens, you just know the fandom’s going to have a lot to say about how this particular competition pans out.

I do plan to cover the new spin-off. You can watch my episode reaction and review videos for the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise over at The Geekiary YouTube channel.

Which international queen do you want to take home the prize?
