It’s official. Syfy has decided to renew the supernatural horror comedy series SurrealEstate for season 3. The exciting news was accompanied by updates for Chucky season 3 Part 2, The Ark season 2, and Reginald the Vampire season 2.

As someone who is a fan of SurrealEstate, I can’t begin to describe how happy I am to learn it will return. The awesome thing is that we (knock on wood) don’t have to wait that long to see the Roman Agency back in action on our TV screens. The series experienced a long hiatus between the first two seasons with the show being canceled after the debut outing only for Syfy to take back the decision and bring it back for a second round.

The 10-episode-long first season premiered in July 2021 with the 10-episode-long sophomore season coming out in October of 2023.

According to Deadline, the second season of SurrealEstate ranked as cable’s No.2 original scripted series in the timeslot when it came to total viewers and the 18-49 demo. So, yay for it getting a renewal this quick!

From what I can tell, SurrealEstate is one of those shows that has eyes on it, even if you don’t see a bunch of people posting about it on social media. It happens. The Wheel of Time kind of falls in a similar space, too. The fandom is there, but most of them are content with only watching the content onscreen and that’s it.

But hey! I’m not complaining. As long as the viewership remains to give SurrealEstate at least five seasons, I’m all good.

For those who might not be familiar, SurrealEstate is a supernatural horror comedy show about a group of real estate agents who specialize in closing haunted properties. The cast includes geek favorite Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, and Savannah Basley, with Korson and Basley’s characters Phil Orley and Zooey L’Enfant playing queer characters.

Season 2 of SurrealEstate ended with the Roman Agency heading in a new direction and certain team members opting for different career paths. That’s why I’m looking forward to seeing how the third season will get the gang back together and if the agency will recruit fresh blood as well.

As for the rest of the announcements, the queer-led Chucky season 3 Part 2 is expected to return on April 10, 2024. Part 1 of the third season was the most-watched season of any USA/SyFy series since 2021 in the 18-49 demo. Yay!

The beginning of season 3 of Chucky had the iconic killer doll infiltrating the White House to enact a very sinister plan. You can read my episode reviews here.

The second season of the supernatural comedy series Reginald the Vampire will premiere on May 8, 2024.

And the second season of the sci-fi series The Ark will debut sometime this summer.
