Dragon Ball Daima season 1 episode 14, titled ‘Taboo’, set things up for a major battle in the First Demon Realm. We also got introduced to more characters.

With the Warp Lord being turned off in the previous episode, I was interested in seeing how Goku and the Z-Warriors would make their way to the First Demon Realm to retrieve the final Dragon Ball and save Dende. I knew they were going to get there, but what I wasn’t expecting was how they managed to enter the realm in ‘Taboo’ because the narrative decided not to delay the inevitable.

From what I could understand, the entrances and exits present between the three realms were blocked due to a pair of giant shields in the Second Demon Realm. The Warp Lord was the only way for people to travel between the realms. Touching the shields released an extremely powerful electrical attack. Goku, of course, touched the shield by extending his staff. The resulting energy discharge made him fall unconscious. Most other beings would have died. Also, it was funny none decided to fly down to catch a falling Goku.

Running out of time, Neva used a spell to disperse the shields. It’s revealed he’s the one who created the shields in the first place because he wanted to keep the Second Demon Realm safe from dangerous visitors from the First and Third Realms.

I’m still side-eyeing Neva. Not only did he create the Dragon Balls of the Demon Realms and the Tamagami, but he’s also the creator of the freaking shields! How powerful is Neva supposed to be? Even Piccolo mentioned how Namekians shouldn’t be this OP when Neva got rid of the shields with his chant. The elderly Namekian has been very friendly with the Z-Warriors, offering them a whole lot of help during their journey. Having said that, he was also a bit messy when he gave the Second Tamagami an energy boost during its battle with Vegeta.

I want to know what Neva’s endgame is supposed to be. I don’t trust him.

With Goku and his crew drawing near, King Gomah and Degesu summoned an Elite Gendarmerie Force consisting of members Kadem, Damina, Hillia, Mashim, and Gaimoi. Of course, introducing this particular new team reminded me of the Ginyu Force. However, unlike the Ginyu Force, I doubt these so-called Elite fighters will be able to give the Z-Warriors much of a fight. The trigger-happy men were clearly worried when they learned about how powerful their incoming foes were.

Their interaction with Majin Kuu and Majin Duu was funny, with the newly created Majin brothers being fans of the Elite Gendarmerie Force.

Talking about the brothers, I’m kind of suspicious as to why King Gomah or Degesu haven’t yet talked to Dr. Arinsu about creating the two Majin and winning the First Demon Realm Dragon Ball. I want to see Dr. Arinsu being asked about what she’s planning.

Another scene I liked was Vegeta carrying Bulma as everyone flew out of the damaged spaceship. There’s no way he was going to let Hybis of all people carry Bulma to safety.

With everyone in the First Demon Realm now, Glorio’s secret about working for Dr. Arinsu is about to come out. I’m interested in seeing how Goku will react to the truth.
