A lot continues to happen in a single episode of Dragon Ball Daima and I’m here for it. Episode 9, titled ‘Thieves’, was about Goku and his crew continuing their journey to meet up with the Z-Warriors before heading to the Second Demon Realm. But trouble came a knocking!

Seeing Goku and his team flying around with the Third Demon Realm’s Dragon Ball was funny. But I guess that’s how it would be. Once acquired, the Dragon Balls didn’t disappear somewhere, waiting to be recalled when it was time to make a wish. You would need to either carry them around with you or find a good place to hide them until you collected all Dragon Balls and were ready to use them.

At least, the Demon Realms only had a total of three Dragon Balls for a person to carry around. But still, the risk of someone else coming to steal a ball or two was everpresent. And that’s what Goku and his team had to face in ‘Thieves’, as a criminal duo decided to steal Goku’s newly received Third Demon Relam Dragon Ball. Fortunately, Panzy had the foresight to put a tracker inside the carrying case.

Their short battle showed Glorio being capable of using his lightning attack in more ways than one. He’s able to shape the lightning and use it as a whip. I’m interested in seeing what other abilities he might reveal down the line.

Goku trying but failing to remain awake through the night to keep an eye on the Dragon Ball made for a good comedic moment. While Glorio and Panzy were just getting to know more about Goku, Shin should have been smart enough to realize that Goku, while a kind-hearted hero, wasn’t someone to rely on when it came to matters outside of fighting. I also liked the scene where Goku had to borrow Panzy’s clothes.

As for Vegeta and the rest, their spaceship got stolen by a bunch of aliens whom Vegeta beat up the other night. Even though Goku, Glorio, Panzy, and Shin finally met up with the Z-Warriors, they couldn’t take them along to the Second Demon Realm due to their spaceship’s weight limit.

Goku suggested that the Z-Warriors go directly to stop King Gomah instead. So, I think that’s likely what will happen. With Goku collecting the two remaining Dragon Balls, the Z-Warriors will make their way to King Gomah’s castle to defeat him and save Dende. I wanted to see Vegeta or Piccolo get the chance to fight a Tamagami, but I guess that won’t be happening. Sigh!

Vegeta and his crew did get the spaceship back when the group from last night returned for revenge. The fight sequence was meant to show how Vegeta and Piccolo had gotten used to moving around in the Demon Realm’s strange environment.

We also got a scene where Hybis pointed at a moving eyeball on his belt. That eyeball will likely play a role in the narrative. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s revealed to be the Third Eye that King Gomah wanted.

Coming to Dr Arinsu’s collaboration with Marba to create a new Majin Buu, I wasn’t expecting the creature to be created as well as get a full reveal so early. Named Majin Kuu, Dr Arinsu immediately sent it to retrieve the Dragon Ball from the First Tamagami as a show of strength. Dr Arinsu’s had a point. She had no need for such a creature if it wasn’t strong enough to complete such a task. Majin Kuu seemed to be listening to Dr Arinsu, but I don’t think her control will last.

Now that we have been introduced to a new villain, I can’t wait to see how powerful Majin Kuu will be compared to Goku and Vegeta. Again, the pace of this anime is hitting the right level of excitement.
