5 Thai BLs I’m Looking Forward to in 2026

I think most of us BL girlies can agree that 2025 was a stellar year for BL. So many good shows were released. So many new pairings took us by storm. Looking ahead to 2026, the roster is only getting better.
If you haven’t already fallen down the rabbit hole that is Thai BL, this is a perfect time to start. There are some fantastic shows scheduled to release this year that I am personally extremely excited about. (I actually have a whole primer post for anyone interested in getting into Thai BL. It’s long, but if you don’t care to know about production differences or branded pairs, you can just skip to the recommendations near the end.)
To be honest, there are way more than just these five shows that I’m excited about, but I decided to settle on five because otherwise, we’ll be here all night with me listing series. I didn’t intentionally try to pick shows from all different studios, but once I realized I was heading that way, I thought it was a great idea. You may have noticed that my recs and reviews heavily skew towards GMMTV, and I’m working on branching out to the other studios.
Aside from the first show, which is the only one with any sort of release timeline because it comes out in January, the others are presented in no particular order.
Yesterday
Starring: FortPeat (Fort Thitipong, Peat Wasuthorn)
Premise: Truthfully, I’m not entirely sure what the premise is. The MyDramaList (MDL) summary and the pilot trailer are both very different in tone. From what I can tell, Fort and Peat play former lovers and business allies Veir and Kelvin, who are separated and then reunite some time later. And then Kelvin takes Veir hostage for some reason.
Why I’m Excited: I love FortPeat as a pair. Their chemistry is insane, particularly in their NC scenes, which are legendary. Unfortunately, I have not really liked any of their series. They’re good actors in OK shows. I keep watching them, but they need something good. I’m hoping that Yesterday is the vehicle that will finally showcase their talents. Also, I’m looking forward to seeing a toxic dynamic between them because I think they could really nail it.
Premieres: January 26 on WeTV
Be My Player Two
Starring: MaxkyBas (Maxky Ratchata, Bas Hatsanat)
Premise: Popular streamer Three (Maxky) gets defeated by a mysterious gamer (Bas). When he and his friends decide to enter a tournament and their team is one player short, Three tracks down his opponent and gets him to join their team.
Why I’m Excited: I recently got into Fourever You, which introduced MaxkyBas as fan favorite couple Johan and North. These two have got me in a chokehold to the point where I have lost track of how many rewatches I’m on, yet I’m fast-forwarding to just their scenes. Their vibe hits so much on my checklist, I’m hastily adding new things on there that I just realized about myself. I can’t wait to see them in a new series together. Plus, I love shows centered around gaming. Some of my favorite C-dramas are about gaming.
Premieres: ??? on WeTV
A Dog and a Plane
Starring: TayNew (Tay Tawan, New Thitipoom)
Premise: Toto (Tay) and Khanit (New) clash when their bags are swapped at the airport and Toto lets Khanit’s belongings get stolen. To pay him back, Toto agrees to spy on Khanit’s boyfriend and see if he’s cheating.
Why I’m Excited: This is one of the last shows from the GMMTV 2025 lineup so naturally it’s one of the shows that I was most excited about. I love TayNew because since they “reunited” as a pair, they’ve played a lot of adult characters, which is pretty rare in BL. (It’s getting more common, though!) I’m also interested to see them portray such different careers (Toto is an EMT, Khanit is a flight attendant), not to mention a different dynamic than usual. Plus, this is a Jojo show, and Jojo always delivers.
Premieres: ??? from GMMTV (no platform yet)
Police in Love
Starring: YinWar (Yin Anan, War Wanarat)
Premise: Thiar (Yin) has terrible luck that will probably end up killing him unless he marries a person with very specific characteristics. And that person just so happens to be Mangkorn (War), one of his subordinates on the police force.
Why I’m Excited: I am seated for everything YinWar does, but after the gut punch that was the Jack & Joker special episode, I’m especially desperate for them to be in a series with a happy ending. They promised this time. This series is definitely a romcom, and I can’t wait to see them as characters who aren’t going to rip my still-beating heart from my chest. Also, fake married is one of my all-time favorite fanfic tropes.
Premieres: ??? on WeTV
Magic Lover
Starring: ThomasKong (Thomas Teetut, Kong Kongpob), KengNamping (Keng Harit, Namping Napatsakorn), JimmyOhm (Jimmy Karn, Ohm Thanakrit)
Premise: Wizards Aphere (Kong), Vivian (Namping), and Deris (Ohm) are sent on a quest to the human realm. They have 30 days to find their true loves, or they’ll be turned into animals forever.
Why I’m Excited: We need more fantasy BLs! We’re starting to get more supernatural ones, but I have been dying to see something that leans more into traditional fantasy. Magic is one of the things I wish popped up more in BL, and I love this concept. Plus, this looks just the right amount of cheesy. ThomasKong were so unbelievably adorable in Your Sky, KengNamping blew me away in Khemjira (which was my favorite BL that aired in 2025), and JimmyOhm were absolutely the best part of The Next Prince.
Premieres: ??? from Domundi (no platform yet)
Aside from Yesterday, which again airs in January, there’s no scheduled release date for any of these. The Police in Love pilot promises a 2026 debut, and Magic Lover has started filming, so I expect that to come out this year. But A Dog and a Plane has to wait for Tay to finish filming Scarlet Heart, which is a huge production with a big cast, and therefore a lot of scheduling commitments to work around. I haven’t heard anything about Be My Player Two or when that will start.
Still, I’m hopeful that these will all come out this year. I seriously need something to look forward to. And I want to know what shows you are all excited about! Hit me with it. My watchlist could always use more titles, even though there aren’t enough hours in the day.
If anyone is interested in me doing a top 5 for shows I watched in 2025, let me know! I was thinking about it and decided to instead focus on writing a magnum opus Thai BL primer instead.
