OK Seriously This Time: YinWar Reveals First Poster for New Series

Am I clowning myself again? Maybe. Just about six weeks ago, the Thai BL fandom blew up because Yin Anan and War Wanarat released a teaser image for their upcoming project. Just as everyone was getting excited about a new series, they announced that it was for their next concert. We are all in a similar tizzy today, but this time I’m actually positive it’s really a new series. For real this time.

I was one of the many people who lost myself at the possibility of a new YinWar series. I wrote a whole article about the teaser image, complete with speculation about what famous novel the series would be based on. When the trailer for their new project was released not long after, I debated writing up a post about it. I spent too long debating, because not two days after the trailer dropped, they announced on their social media that it was a concept trailer for their October concert.

And then I debated writing something up about that, but I didn’t think I could get an entire article out of, “oh no, we fooled ourselves”.

However, earlier today they released a new poster for what is actually their next series, Police in Love. This isn’t like last time, I swear. Police in Love being their next series is official in every way that matters. And for people who may still be skeptical, here are all the reasons to believe that this is real.

So, first, they flat out tell us what book this is based on, instead of everyone scrambling to do research and try and figure out what fits. Police in Love is based on The Inspector’s Wife (ภรรยาสารวัตรเธียร์) by kanola. This was confirmed on the author’s Twitter account. Not to mention that the poster they released looks almost exactly like the book’s cover.

Yin and War have mentioned before that their next series will be based on a popular novel. It’s why when their concert trailer came out, so many people were doing detective work to figure out what novel it could be adapting.

Then there’s the fact that the release date is vague, just “2026”. Previously, they had said that their next project would be in October 2025, which is a pretty quick turnaround if it were to be a new show, but is a decent lead time for a simple concert. A vague release date is more common with a series, which has to go through workshops, fittings, filming, and post-production.

Finally, there’s the fact that the official Jack & Joker Twitter account posted a reply to the poster that said, essentially, “tag, you’re it”. This is twofold, as it leans heavily towards a new series, if their previous series is “passing” the actors on. But it also seems to indicate that we won’t be getting a continuation of Jack & Joker any time soon, which is upsetting, because it ended on the world’s worst cliffhanger.

Yin and War have promised that their new series will have a happy ending, and the book is marketed as a romcom, so hopefully they aren’t toying with our emotions. Again.

Anyway, it looks like the basic premise of Police in Love is that Thierta (Yin) has horrible luck and has to get married to fix his horoscope. But whoever he marries has to meet very specific conditions for it to affect his luck, and wouldn’t you know it, Mangkorn (War), meets all of those random requirements. So they get married. And shenanigans ensue. Presumably.

I’m still sat from before, to be honest. I was here for them when I thought I was getting a show about a factory employee and the boss’s son, and I’m here for a show where they get fake married for luck. Even if they are cops. Of course now, we know we have to wait until next year to see them again. But at least we know, which is better than nothing!
