Collector’s Edition of Horror Movie “Night Swim” Gets Digital, Blu-ray and DVD Release Dates!

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will be releasing the horror movie Night Swim on Digital come March 12, 2024, followed by a Blu-ray and DVD physical release on April 9, 2024.

The upcoming home release of Night Swim will contain tons of extra content for fans to enjoy and make the price tag worth it. It has a feature commentary track! Yay!

The film is from James Wan’s Atomic Monster (The Conjuring franchise, Insidious franchise) and Blumhouse (The Black Phone, Halloween franchise). It has been written and directed by Bryce McGuire.

The premise of the film deals with a family moving into a new home only to realize that the swimming pool in their backyard has a mind of its own. Depending on how you look at it, the water can be a blessing or curse as the family tries to survive the supernatural forces that are out to get them.

Night Swim was released in the US back on January 5, 2024. It went on to gross more than $52 million worldwide against a reported production budget of $15 million.

I watched it because I found the trailer intriguing. But as far as the movie itself is concerned, I would describe it as passable. It’s not bad and it’s not great. It’s an okay time with some interesting moments.

A major issue of mine was how the lore felt underdeveloped. The backstory had a lot of potential. If only the creative team decided to really get into it. In the end, the movie left me with more questions than answers and the underwater horror scenes stopped hitting once I realized the pattern.

The cast includes Wyatt Russell, Oscar-nominee Kerry Condon, Amélie Hoeferle, and Gavin Warren as the Waller family that has to deal with the “haunted” swimming pool. I liked Condon’s portrayal of Izzy Waller; a mother doing what she could to protect her loved ones against a ticking clock. She gave me Naomi Watts vibes.

The Blu-ray of Night Swim will be presented in Aspect Ratio: 16:9 2.39:1 Widescreen. The Sound is English (DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 for Feature, Dolby Digital 2.0 for bonus content), French Canadian (DTS Digital Surround 5.1), and Latin American Spanish (DTS-HD High Resolution Audio 7.1).

The DVD features Aspect Ratio: 16:9 2.39:1 Anamorphic Widescreen. The Sound is (Dolby Digital 5.1 for Feature, Dolby Digital 2.0 for bonus content), French Canadian (Dolby Digital 5.1) and Latin American Spanish (Dolby Digital 5.1).

The Languages/Subtitles are English, French Canadian, and Latin American Spanish on both the Blu-ray and DVD.

Night Swim has been rated PG-13 for terror, some violent content, and language.

The running time comes in at approximately 01:38:12.
