Fans of the currently airing Dragon Ball Daima anime can look forward to revisiting the episodes featuring an English dub on Crunchyroll come January 10, 2025.

The upcoming release of the English dub for Dragon Ball Daima will be available in select territories via Crunchyroll on January 10, 2025. The English dubbed episodes will follow a weekly release schedule, with the first episode, titled ‘Conspiracy‘, being available in January for streaming in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Apparantly, Crunchyroll will share “exciting” news regarding the anime in other territories down the line.

From Toei Animation and commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the globally iconic Dragon Ball IP, the Dragon Ball Daima anime is based on an all-new story and character designs by the late Akira Toriyama. The premise involves Goku and the rest of the Z-Warriors being shrunk into child-like size by the Demon Realm’s King Gomah.

Being accompanied by two new characters named Glorio and Panzy, the now “mini” Goku and Shin need to travel across the three Demon Realms to collect the Dragon Balls to not only return to their original size but to also find a way to put a stop to whatever King Gomah seems to be planning.

I have been covering Dragon Ball Daima (you can read my reviews here) and I have to say that I found it to be way more fun than expected. I like how there seems to be more happening behind the scenes via Dr Arinsu. Also, the anime’s sixth episode ‘Lightning’ seamlessly introduced a surprising level of queer representation to such a popular franchise. I’m kind of looking forward to seeing how the English dub performances will explain that particular scene.

The English dub voice cast includes:

  • Goku – Sean Schemmel
  • Supreme Kai – Kent Williams
  • Vegeta, Yamcha, and Shenron – Christopher R. Sabat
  • Bulma – Monica Rial
  • Krillin – Sonny Strait
  • Goten and Gotenks – Kara Edwards
  • Trunks and Gotenks – Alexis Tipton
  • Dende – Justin Cook
  • Kibito – Chuck Huber
  • Majin Buu – Josh Martin
  • Babidi – Duncan Brannan
  • Goku (Mini) – Stephanie Nadolny
  • Supreme Kai (Mini) – Nia Celeste
  • Vegeta (Mini) – Paul Castro Jr.
  • Bulma (Mini) – Taylor Murphy
  • Piccolo (Mini) – Nasim Benelkour
  • Krillin (Mini) – Lara Woodhull
  • Chi Chi (Mini) – Brittany Lauda
  • Master Roshi (Mini) – Jordan Dash Cruz
  • Trunks (Mini) – Celeste Perez
  • Dende (Mini) – Emi Lo
  • Kibito (Mini) – Aaron Michael
  • Mister Satan (Mini) – Cory Phillips
  • Majin Buu (Mini) – Dusty Feeney
  • Glorio – Aaron Dismuke
  • Gomah – Tom Laflin
  • Degesu – Landon McDonald
  • Doctor Arinsu – Morgan Lauré
  • Neva – Garrett Schenck
  • Sir Warp and Small Sir Warp – Kristian Eros
  • Narrator – Doc Morgan

Not seeing the English dubbing talent for a main character like Panzy (voiced by Fairouz Ai in the Japanese version) does look weird to me. But I guess an announcement will be made soon.

The Dragon Ball Daima English dub production staff includes ADR Director Jonathan Rigg, ADR Producer Samantha Herek, English scriptwriter Jarrod Greene, ADR Mixer Gino Palencia, and ADR Engineer Jameson Outlaw.

The anime itself has been directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki together with series composition and script by Yuko Kakihara and animation character design by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru.

Dragon Ball Daima initially began streaming on Crunchyroll on October 11, 2024, in Japanese with subtitles. Episode 9 titled ‘Thieves’ will premiere come December 6, 2024, in Japanese with subtitles.
