‘Interview with the Vampire’, ‘X-Men ’97’, ‘Night Country’ and More Queer Television Noms for Critics Choice Awards 2025!
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) has shared the nominations for the TV category for the upcoming 30th annual ceremony. The winners will be announced during the show’s broadcast come Sunday, January 12, 2025 (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM ET/PT).
The Critics Choice Awards gala will be hosted by Chelsea Handler and will be broadcast LIVE on E! from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The ceremony will be available for people to stream the next day on Peacock.
I’m glad to see a bunch of shows that I enjoy watching and talking about being nominated. And of course, said content includes queer-inclusive narratives.
Let’s go over some of the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards nominations and my thoughts!
Best Drama Series

Opinion: Although I’m a fan of Interview with the Vampire, I do feel that Shogun will win.
Best Actor in a Drama Series
- Jeff Bridges – The Old Man (FX)
- Ncuti Gatwa – Doctor Who (Disney+)
- Eddie Redmayne – The Day of the Jackal (Peacock)
- Hiroyuki Sanada – Shogun (FX/Hulu)
- Rufus Sewell – The Diplomat (Netflix)

Best Actress in a Drama Series
- Caitriona Balfe – Outlander (Starz)
- Kathy Bates – Matlock (CBS)
- Shanola Hampton – Found (NBC)
- Keira Knightley – Black Doves (Netflix)
- Keri Russell – The Diplomat (Netflix)
- Anna Sawai – Shogun (FX/Hulu)
Opinion: Balfe basically is Outlander. She makes the show. But I do see Sawai winning in this category.
Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

- Mark-Paul Gosselaar – Found (NBC)
- Takehiro Hira – Shogun (FX/Hulu)

Opinion: Yay to Reid getting a nom! But again, Hira will likely win.

Opinion: Yes to English Teacher making the cut. It’s a very good comedic show. But I see Abbott Elementary winning this one.
